Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge

Today I volunteered at Multnomah Falls in the Visitor's Center - and my husband worked with me for his first time.  I trained him! :-)  He took the camera up the trail and took this photo for me as I held down the "fort" in the center.  It only takes 20 minutes to get to the falls from our house - we live in a very pretty area, in the countryside above the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon.  The leaves are acting strange this year and haven't turned colors much, there are big leaf maples on either side of the falls, but they haven't turned yellow as yet.

Every time I volunteer I always meet some really neat people - they visit from all over the world and from all states of the US.  Today we taught several people how to say Oregon correctly.  It's not Or-uh-GONE... it's OR-uh-gun.  They taught us it's not Ill-uh-NOISE, but Ill-uh-noy.  (but I knew that)

A local couple brought some visitors from Guatemala and I got to use my few words of Spanish.  I need to learn more!

I worked for the 3 1/2 hours on my rainbow Granny Stripe blanket while there - I got several stripes added.  I'm 3/4 done, then I need to figure out what border pattern I'll use.  I want to get this done as I have a whole basket of lovely soft acrylic that I got from England!  It's called Stylecraft.  I'm not sure what I will make with it, but some nice colorful pillow covers in the round would be nice.

Thanks for dropping by to visit with me... ((hugs)) Teresa

  3. Hi Erin, yep, I love it out here. We do get too much rain, but that's what keeps it so green. My daughter is moving to Ohio next summer, so I'll be visiting Ohio sometime after that. Never been there!
