Madame President :-)

I sure had a busy day.  Off to a DAR meeting at the Red Lion near the Portland Convention Center.  I gave a few reports, one about the Units Overseas, Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution in 12 countries around the world.  Another about Women's Issues.  I learned some things about how women's rights aren't faring that good which was enlightening.

Then home to pick up my dear husband and off to the Annual Meeting of the Friends of Multnomah Falls.  Wow!  I was surprised to be awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award! The plaque with my photo on it will hang in the Visitor's Center for a whole year and I'll be on the plaque forever, really cool!

Then the election was held and I'm the new President of the Friends of Multnomah Falls! It's quite an honor!  I was one of the founding members of the group in the 1980s and was Vice President and also served as President in the early days.

My plans for the next year are to make sure all the volunteers have fun and are appreciated.  We are in partnership with the US Forest Service and work with them to operate the Visitor's Center.

I have been on the board for several years now and am the webmaster and newsletter editor.  Here is the website if you have the interest:  Friends of Multnomah Falls

We're home now and are in our easy chairs for the evening.  Thanks for coming to visit!  ((Hugs))  Teresa
