OMG, Granny Stripe TA-DAH!

My blanket saga goes this way... I ordered my Rico Creative Cotton from England at the little yarn shop that Lucy recommended from Attic24 Blog to make the "Lucy Inspired" Granny Stripe blanket at the end of May last Spring.  I've been slogging along crocheting this for .. let's see... 9 months! Hmmm.. :-)  I had to order 2 more packages, then another order for the border, then another order for the border when the first colors weren't the right colors.. HA!  But it's done... DONE I tell you! Finished! :::whew::
Now before you say... well, dearie me, that's too small for that bed.. it wasn't meant for this king sized bed.  It's a snuggle blanket and will be taken in our trailer on "camping" trips.
Closer photo.. pardon me if this blinds you. :-)
Another view.
The border I came up with that is supposed to look like pink tulips with green leaves and blue sky behind/above... but this is upside down.  Turn your computer upside to get a better view ... LOL
The sun came out for a brief moment so here it is slung over a garden chair in the sun on our deck.
Closer in case you didn't see it good enough the other times.. hehe
The border close up sideways.
So.. there ya go.. I'm sure you were dying of curiosity... (hehe) I am so glad to have this WIP done.  (For those non-crocheters, that means work-in-progress)  I even got another flower done on my flower shawl last night.

We're going out for lunch today then grocery shopping.  Our sons and their families are coming over for Sunday dinner tomorrow and we need some supplies.  We're making a quadruple batch of homemade Macaroni and Cheese with grilled ham steaks.  I might just get a photo of that.

Thanks SO much for stopping by and special hugs and lovies for those who leave comments - I check those quite often and it's just so uplifting to see my friends leave a note.  Have a great weekend!!

((Hugs)) Teresa

  2. Un-Frign'-Be-Li-vable.... Tryly amazing. I too ordered the A24 cotton. That is what was used for my circle of friends on my sidebar. I waited soooooooooooo long for the first pack. I don't know how you wait twice more. But, Lady, this is so worth it. Stunning. Perfect for the camper. But, are you really going to let others touch.

  4. I left a comment on Ravelry, but couldn't resist one here too after I saw the additional pictures. Your blanket is beautiful. You sound so happy to be done with it. Did you check my ravelry projects for the granny blanket I made last month? It's so soft and comfy that it's getting lots of use.

I just have to say again...I love, love, love your bedroom and the chandelier. We have a slanted roof over our bed so I guess I can't talk my dear husband into one for my room. "sigh"

  22. Stunning I say! Well worth the nine months...just like a baby! I especially like the two greens, then yellow rows.

Sounds like a great day planned. We just had pita pizzas we put together using a little Caesar dressing for the sauce, shredded mozz., thinly sliced raw onions and mushrooms.

  23. Wow, what wonderful comments from you dear sweet ladies!!

Betsy, it's easy to put a chandelier on a slanted ceiling, you just swag it over on hooks and plug it into the wall. That's what we did!

Denise, you definitely need a rest after what you've been through recently.

The story of the bed is that we needed a new one, so I was out looking and I walked into this one furniture store and that bed was set up near the entrance and I looked at it and fell in love.. and although it overwhelms the room a bit, I just adore it still. I've often wondered if I should hang some filmy or lacy drapes from the top.. ??

    Hugs to you all!!
