7500 Gallons of Water a Second

That's the amount of water coming over Multnomah Falls today!  I wish you could hear the roar it's making!  Hubby volunteered with me today as my sister who is my usual co-volunteer had come down with a cold.  It was a cold rainy day and the parking lot was full!  People from all over the world visiting.  One young boy and his family were here for a fencing tournament - they came from New York, mom was French.  They all hiked all the way to the top of the falls!  I got 3 more flowers crocheted and added to my alpaca wrap.  People commented on it all day. :-)
The moss is loving the moisture, and the ferns too.
The little waterfall below is seasonal, it dries up is the summer.
The photo below is when we left from the road.. a further back view.
The waterfall below is called Wahkeena.. it's very pretty but hard to photograph as it goes up way higher than the photo shows.
The gorge, Rooster Rock and Vista House -- can you say GREY!?
This will warm us up tonight for dinner again.. while I was swimming yesterday hubby made a lovely beef stew and served it up with hot rolls.  Yes, it tasted as good as it looked!! :-)
Thanks for stopping by for a visit.  I hope you're having a great week.

((hugs)) Teresa

  2. Wonderful pictures! The stew actually made my mouth water. I saw on the news that there was actually snow close to you today! Will the REAL spring ever arrive?

We're heading the opposite direction into Montana tomorrow for our granddaughter's 6th birthday party! Snow there for sure!

Thank you for your beautiful gift of photography.

  13. 7500 gallons sounds like a LOT of water. However, I have now imagination of it. Maybe liters would help? But this is just a number too. The pictures give an impression although it would be wonderful to see the waterfall and hear the roaring. Thanks for letting me have a look where you live.

  14. Regula, that would be 28,390 liters. :-)

Dorothy, if you pay for the airfare, you can borrow my husband. LOL

Pammy Sue - you don't have ANY waterfalls in Texas? Oh my! :-)

Nanita.. that is a good idea of finding yarn to match that moss green!
