Birthday Boys & Swimming

Yesterday we attended a birthday party at Papa's Pizza for our youngest son's 2 toddler boys.  Hayden & Caleb were born 5 days less than a year apart, so for a few days they're the same age!!  They are the most energetic little boys - they run and wrestle and jump like two big puppies.  Below they are blowing out the candles for their 2nd and 3rd birthdays.  It was great as all 3 of our kids, all 3 of their spouses and all 6 of our grandkids were there.
Their mommy Kristi made the cake, it's a train - Dayle was a train engineer before he retired and it's neat to see trains show up here and there.
Another view.. how cute are these boys?
Below they're eating their cake, it was delicious with raspberry and cream filling.
Our daughter's oldest daughter Jenna has lost a lot of baby teeth and our son's youngest son Gabriel has also -- I wanted to get a photo of them with a big smile, cute, huh?
I love my family to bits.
I went swimming today.  I couldn't let my blog friend Kate at Garden Bell swim on her vacation in Florida without me, could I?  I've been swimming in this pool at LA Fitness for several years now.  I am really good at going, but then something will come up like a flu that goes into bronchitis for 4 months, or my knee or back goes out -- but to my credit, when I get to feeling better I get right back into it.  I do the backstroke for one length and then the breast stroke on the way back.  I swim without stopping for an hour at a time.  I don't go so fast that I kill myself, I just go go go.. back and forth.

And I think.  It's my best time for thinking.  And today I was back-stroking along and looking at the ceiling and I thought.. things are pretty good... if I don't go into detail. :-)  I have worries and sadnesses, but there isn't anything I can do to change those.

So, there you go.  My best friend from 7th grade and her husband are arriving tomorrow for a 2 day, overnight visit.  It will be fun to chat and talk, and I might get lots done on my flower wrap while we catch up on things. I hope you're all having a great week!

((hugs)) Teresa

  2. What beautiful grandchildren you have Teresa. I admire you for doing all that swimming - I should take a leaf out of your book. Because of back and hip problems I can't walk too far without pain so water exercise is about all I could manage. Just need to get myself motivated enough to go.

  7. They are all very sweet grandchildren Teresa. I agree family time is very sweet although it can be very occasional as they all grow up and move on. I so enjoyed having my 2 grown up children join my birthday celebrations on Sunday.
Well done with the swimming, keep it up (that's me with my physio hat on-LOL)

  8. You go girl. Nothing better than jumping into a warm pool feet first. I've been a water baby all my life. So, glad we could be poolside together for a few.

Aren't those little one just too cute.

Pop over. I've started your Rainbow Baby Blanket. I'll try to get more pics up soon, when the sun comes back out after a sweet morning rain.

  9. Teresa, your grandkids are so sweet and cute. Love the picture with the missing teeth. I love the little one with the beautiful curly hair. I have straight hair so I always admirer waves and curls. I know you are sad about the move, I don't blame you, I had to do the same. I think you just have to accept it and visit as often as you can. I feel your pain believe me. So wonderful that you swim, it's a great exercise. Good for you! Have a good time with your friends. xoRobin❤
