A Pool of Sunshine

The sun slants into the dining room this time of year and floods it with light.  I noticed that Buddy found a pool of warm sunlight to nap in.  After I took this photo I noticed that there is a shopping bag under the table! LOL!!  Oh well.. one thing our house is not is perfect.  There is a box of canned peaches on the floor too.. they didn't fit in the "can pantry".  We should probably have peaches for dessert today.  :-)
Hubby has not been feeling that great since his surgery, but today he turned the corner and he's feeling much better.  Yay!  Dayle has actually had 3 hernia operations, starting when he was 5 years old, with a strangulated intestine.  Then when he was in high school he worked in furniture warehouse, lifting heavy appliances and furniture.  He was on the football team and had to miss the rest of his season.  Of course, then he was shot in the thigh while flying a helicopter in Vietnam and spent 5 months in traction!  2 1/2 years ago, he survived colon cancer surgery.  This latest hernia was at his incision point.

So..... he's a tough old bird and we're glad he's still with us.  He's chomping at the bit to get back into action.

Our two boys have helped out by carrying in the 40 lb bags of pellets for our stove.  I've been filling the stove with the pellets to keep hubby from doing it.

We're hosting the family Thanksgiving dinner here in a few weeks.  Dayle has been the turkey baker and stuffing maker for years.  I make all the side dishes.  Our sons and DILs and 4 grandsons will be here with us.

We're going to do some home tidying today.. after I make us both a bacon sandwich for lunch. Thanks for visiting.. I hope you're having a nice weekend and have a good one ahead of us.

((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  1. I didn't see anything but that sun shining in through your sparkling clean windows and of course, the kitty. What a beautiful day and good news to hear we are on the mends there.

About those beads. Yes, the blue Russian one's are my favorite. Keep them forever.

Off to bop around I've been so bad lately. I know I need to check WWF too.

So glad that your DH is feeling a lot better now. Your house looks 'perfect' to me in the nicest way (smile) Clever Buddy fining that sunny spot to sit in. Look forward to reading and looking at your preparations for Thanksgiving. We are now gearing up for Christmas - have made my Christmas cake - just two more to go. Take care. Anne x

  11. Of course I put boiled eggs in my tuna salad! It's a must.

Poor Dayle. It just seems to take longer and longer to get better after an illness or injury the older we get, doesn't it? Sucks. But I'm glad he seems to be on the upswing now. My hubby is still feeling crappy from that flu he had. Glad your boys are around to help some.

Pretty pic of your dining room & window!

    I love your dining room.

Duane like to cook for Thanksgiving. I don't know if I'm working that day or not. Either way, it will just be the two of us.

  15. So glad to hear that Dayle is doing better! Please don't even worry about the shopping bag and can of peaches. Have you ever noticed there aren't pictures of my house on my blog? It's because it's always messy.
