New Crochet, Good Hubby & Blog Award

Season's Greetings, Dear Readers!  I hope you are all set for the big day and are able to take some time for yourself this week.  Feet up, coffee or tea at hand, and something you enjoy to do, like a movie, favorite tv, crochet, knit or other handwork you like to do.  I started a group in Facebook called "We Love Lucy II" and one of the ladies showed us this stitch I'd never seen, so I thought I'd try it out.  Below is a scarf I'm working on.. doesn't the pattern look like little red Christmas trees on the right.. and white ones on the left? :-)  It's a very textural pattern and lays nice and flat.  Here is the pattern.
Yesterday, my dear husband did something he did not want to do.. for me.  He got dressed and drove into the "mouth of the dragon".. he jumped off a cliff.. he swam an ocean and crawled across a desert.  Well, what he really did was drive by himself, into downtown Portland, find a parking place and walked into a shop and shopped for some "surprises" for me for Christmas.  He does NOT like to go downtown, he does NOT like to shop, he's not fond of spending money either.. but he did all this.. for me.  How sweet is that?
The evidence.
Then he stopped at Costco and got some roasted chicken, some nice tomatoes and a bag of salad greens... then came home and made this salad for me.  I went swimming today while all this was occurring.  We're having a very nice pre-Christmas week.. enjoying the lights and decorations.
While I was reading my favorite blogs I saw that my friend Lucy in the Sky had given me a "Liebster Blog Award".  This is an award to encourage those bloggers with under 200 "Followers".  I want to thank Lucy, and to also tell you that she is a fun lady that lives in England with her partner and 2 adorable sons.  She has 3 cute chickens and a nice garden. She spins on a spinning wheel and demonstrates her skill for others.  She and I have a lot in common and I count her as one of my favorite blog friends.
As a winner of this award, it's my duty to pick some of my blog friends to share with you, so here are 5 that I highly recommend.  Enjoy visiting their blogs and tell them I sent you! :-)

  1. Yeah, you found me someone new to hop over to. I love finding new friends. But, you know I will always come back to my old ones. Can I send Scooter for Costco lessons. What a perfect dinner and it looks so good for you too. About that shop... why do you live clear across the country on the coast. I so want to go and can't wait to see what is in those boxes. Off to hop and then to play a word.

  3. What a wonderful husband you have. Mine does the same sort of things for me and I feel very blessed. I love the scarf-it looks nice and Christmasy!

We just returned late last night/early this morning from a week on Maui. What a wonderful way to destress just before Christmas! Now to get ready for the kids to come this weekend. So much for relaxation, but I can't wait to see them all.

    Have a wonderful Christmas Teresa.

    Blessings,

  6. Teresa, being a newbee to blogging, I'm not certain I understand how awards come to be...I haven't figured out buttons or swaps yet, but in the process of learning I am having so much fun discovering bloggers like you who share my interests! Thanks for another great post, for sharing another unique pattern, and introducing me to five new bloggers. I'm glad that you and your good hubby are having happy days. And I will not be surprised if you soon have well over 200 followers for your blog, because it is defiinitely worthy of awards! <3
