Home Again, Home Again

Our last day at the beach dawned sunny and beautiful!  I checked my tide app on my iPhone and it said that low tide would be at 10:30 am, so hubby took the dog for a walk on the beach in the sunshine while I tidied up the trailer.  He brought home several more agates and one in particular is pretty.. he took this photo to show you the rocks in their "natural habitat". :-)
I took this photo of the adventurous duo as they headed out.
I laid all the agates in the sun for a photo.
Here is the whole collection from "Beach Trip, April 2012".
We stowed things for the trip and I helped hubby hook up the truck by directing him in backing up and lowering the trailer hitch onto the truck hitch.  I got some pretty photos of the fluffy clouds and sunlit ocean and beach before we headed out.
This is the view south from our beach.
This is the view north.  Do you see the rain falling in the distance?
I got this shot of our trailer and truck in space #107.  This place, called Sea and Sand RV Park has 3 terraces up the bank so that all levels have a view.
Goodbye ocean.
I got this photo of the clear cuts of our forest in the Van Duzer Corridor so you could see how we're decimating our forests here in Oregon.  I googled it and 60% of our trees and lumber are going to China.  They leave a "buffer" of trees along the highway, but it's stupid as you can see the leveled mountains all behind the faked out "forest".  ::sigh::
We took a new way home this time and it was neat to see the agricultural areas and big puffy clouds.
Here are some grain elevators across a green field of some sort of crop.  More rain coming down. :-)
I zoomed in a bit to see the elevators closer and a very active farm operation.
And so we are home and mostly unpacked.  It was a nice vacation at the beach.  We'll be going back for Dayle's birthday in exactly 6 months!  I'm off to go swimming soon and our son Shawn is coming to visit this afternoon.  I hope you have fun plans for the weekend!  Our plans are to relax from our vacation. :-)  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  5. Ahhh Teresa! I really enjoyed your beach birthday week and I am glad you did too! The agates are pretty and the clear cutting seems senseless to me too. But, welcome home to your lovely farm busy schedule...with resting tucked in here and there. (: <3

  17. Those agates are amazing - do you make anything with them? The would look lovely in a hurricane glass with a candle I think...

The ocean looks amazing. I live right in the middle of the UK (The Midlands!!) and this is as far away from the sea as you can get here. But I love, love, love the ocean - for us the best coast is the Atlantic coast, just amazing.

Hope you are all unpacked and settled again at home and that your weather was good to hang the washing out - torrential rain again here so school uniforms are drying off indoors!
