It's Raining.. It's Pouring..

The old man is.. getting the trailer ready for our trip to the beach for my birthday next week! :-)  My sister, Denise, and I volunteered at Multnomah Falls today.  It literally poured down rain all day.. the brave souls that visited the falls would come in the Visitors Center dripping with rainwater. It was my turn to go get our latte and mocha at the coffee cart, it was cute as the girl there knows our order now without me even saying anything.  While she was doing her barista thing I hiked up a ways and got my shot of the falls, a LOT of water was coming over.
Can you just hear the roar of the water?  Can you feel the mist and rain falling?
I got this shot from the car as I was leaving.. the clouds were very low..
I am just thrilled that the drinking fountain installed by the Daughters of the American Revolution has been repaired during some work being done on the concrete, it was not working for years.  I am a member of the Portland Chapter of DAR and so this is very special to me.
 A shiny new fixture!
Someone took it upon themselves to shine up the bronze plaque.  It was all green and aged, and I'm not sure it's the right thing to shine it up, but it does look nice.
As you may know, I've started collecting Jadeite glass.  My newest "prize" is this little art deco vase.  It's going to look lovely holding my lilacs that will bloom soon.  I have lavender, purple and white lilacs readying to open in a week or so.  YAY!
Don't you just love the organic green color of this stuff?
We leave on Sunday for the beach.  Dayle has washed the trailer and when I came home today was inside it listening to music and getting things ready.  I can't wait to show you our camping spot, it's *right* on the beach, the surf breaks just yards away from us.  Our youngest son, Travis, is bringing his family down for a few nights and will stay in a hotel.  It will be fun to have the baby boys with us for a few days.  Well, they are 3 and 4 now, but they will always be the youngest of the grandkids, always the babys.  Our rain is supposed to turn to sunshine on the weekend, with temps up to 75 degrees!  What does your weekend hold for you?  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

    1. Dorothy, I am using my iPhone 4S for almost all the photos on my blog.. unless I identify that it's the BGC (Big Girl Camera). It's too bulky to carry all the time.

  5. Brrr those falls looked pretty chilly. There are some hardened outdoor fanatics to visit on a day like that. I can't believe it is Birthday Vacation time again already! Buddy must be getting excited....
