A Few More Pix of DC

On Friday we got an even earlier start and began the day at the front of the White House where I got a nice photo. Then on to the Arlington National Cemetery, which was quite memorable. We saw a military band leading a caisson procession funeral. We also saw the changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown soldier. We visited Kennedy's grave and the eternal flame. Then on to the Lincoln Memorial and then the Vietnam Memorial where Dayle located one of his friends and flight school roommate. Then we went to the Jefferson Memorial. We then travelled to Annapolis to our cousin's beach camp where they had set up a crab feed and BBQ. We had a wonderful time with our Aunt and cousins. This afternoon we will attend a catered reunion dinner at my aunt's community center. Tomorrow we head to Gettysburg, a Civil War Battle Site. I will do a more detailed posting when we return home, we fly out on Tuesday. I miss all of you!! Hugs, Teresa

  3. Incredible photos Teresa! The top one from Arlington National Cemetery takes one back in time, doesn't it?
You look so relaxed and happy; I'm thrilled that you could make this trip with your DH:)
I ask that you would please pass on to your husband my condolences for the loss of one of his friends and flight school roomate. It is good that we have places now to come and remember those who died in service to our country.
    Blessings,
    Aimee

  5. You have been so busy with your site seeing. Arlington and the Tomb of the Unknown are respectful, humbling and heart wrenching sites. The Vietnam Wall is another place that has a presence all it's own. It is like there are lost souls all around that memorial, invisible and silent, yet they are present. I bet by the end of your days there you are wore to a frazzle. Thank you for sharing photos. It looks like you are having a wonderful time.

  7. You are having such an amazing trip! Gettysburg is also amazing...truly hallowed ground. We named our youngest son after Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain. He was a truly amazing hero at Gettysburg. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
