Yesterday my sister Denise and I volunteered at Multnomah Falls. It was busy there! Lots of visitors and people enjoying the cool mist of the falls on a hot summer day. I love this shot when I was zooming in on the bridge and the people were waving at us.Zooming in on the bottom of the falls...
The bottom pool.
The falls... showing more bottom.
Showing the top.
Zooming in on the top.
The little rapids down the creek.
The flowers and ferns are flourishing in the mist of the falls.
Do you have Salmon Berry plants where you live? They are a wild plant here.
Ocean Spray, a wild shrub here.
Wildflowers out front of the lodge.
Heading home I pull out at the viewpoint. Nice day!
Rooster Rock and Vista House at Crown Point.
Blackberries growing wild at the viewpoint. These are a very invasive plant here, they are Himalayan blackberries and have taken over Oregon and are VERY difficult to get rid of. We've been doing battle with them here on the farm for years.
Hubby had been running errands, watering the deck plants and riding his mower while I was gone. We decided to drive to town for dinner and got a text from my son inviting us to join him and his family at Flying Pie pizza, so we headed there and had a fun time with them, having salad bar and pizza. We took his little Tbird, which he won in a raffle in 2002. We were listening to the Beach Boys on the way to town and enjoying ourselves immensely.
On the way home we listened to The Beatles, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Band album. I adore this album and used to be able to sing along, knowing every single word to the songs. When it came to the song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" I thought of my great blog friend Lucy at "In the Sky Blog". She recently told us about doing a preemie hat project and I told her I'd do 5 hats and donate them to my local hospital that needs them the most. This was my first one, but I think I need to give this one to a doll and use a finer yarn for the next ones.
When we arrived home I thought the evening light was pretty on our barn, so Dayle pulled the little convertible down into the pasture so I could click this photo. People driving down the road looked surprised to see us sitting in the little black convertible in the middle of our pasture. :-)
Today we're enjoying summer and I will go swimming. It's Friday the 13th, so be careful out there! Do you have fun plans for the weekend? We have no plans.. maybe we should make some! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
