Red Sky at Night is a Sailor's Delight

Our 4th day at the beach - the photo below is how we start the day.  Making our own cups of coffee, Dayle makes his own oatmeal and I warm up a lemon poppyseed muffin.  We watch morning tv while we have breakfast.  I check my email, Facebook, play Scrabble online and then do my blog post.  :-)  Life is good.
Our friends, Shirley & John arrived shortly after noon and we visited awhile in the trailer and then headed out to get a bowl of chowder.  We went to the Sea Hag in Depoe Bay.  Afterwards Shirley and I went into a gift shop and I had to snap this photo of the guys when we finally emerged.  They're shooting the breeze while we looked around the shop. This place is known for whale watching, the grey whales all pass by here and you can see them blowing mist out of their blow holes and if you're lucky they'll flip their huge tails up in the air.  The day cleared up well and we enjoyed sunshine and fair weather.
My sister Denise arrived and we all met back up for dinner at Tidal Raves.  We love this restaurant as it's got a killer view and really nice cuisine.  Here Shirley is telling a fun story and my sister looks on.  Everyone enjoyed their meal - I had coconut shrimp with a ginger orange sauce. :-)
I had mentioned that it was Dayle's birthday and the waiter surprised him with a warm chocolate chip walnut cookie with a huge scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top!  We all shared it with him. :-)
This, my friends, is the view from the restaurant!  The sun was getting close to setting when we left.
Denise was with us in our truck, so we took her down 101 to show her the stone house we found - a man was sitting on the front porch and the lights were on, it was nice to see it lived in.
And then a beautiful sunset began to appear!  Denise told me about an app she found for her iPhone, "Pro HDR Free" - so I quickly downloaded and used it for this photo.  It automatically enhances your photos!

Then I switched over to my Lumix camera and zoomed in and got THIS photo.  :-)
Zoomed in a bit more and got this.  Ahhhh.. love me a brilliant sunset!
Then we all came back to our cozy caravan and visited away the evening. I helped Shirley begin a crocheted cotton wash cloth.  She had not crocheted in a very long time so it was a bit dicey at first and she was ready to "throw in the towel" - but she persevered and got three rows done and figured she'd got it!  I look forward to seeing what she's done on it today.  We're heading off soon and will meet up with my sis and Shirley and John and do some more adventuring and will have Dayle's birthday lunch.  We are amazed to say that there is not one cloud here today!  OK, talk later.. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  6. Hi Teresa!

It's pouring here in Spokane today, so we have your coastal rain! It looks like you're sitting at the same table Dennis and I were at when we ate at Tidal Raves. The view is beyond beautiful.

I, too, made one of your dishcloths last night after I got home. Such a quick and fun project. I think I'll stock my Christmas basket with these dishcloths. I finished almost half of another one while the tire store was putting my snow tires on this morning. Yes, I said snow. It was snowing this morning when I woke up, but it's all gone now and just raindrops.

Lovely, lovely pictures. I'm enjoying taking my coast trip vicariously through you my friend. :-)

    Blessings,

    Betsy
