Winter is a hard time for keeping a positive attitude. I know we're all anxiously awaiting Spring - the warmer weather, the longer light, the flowers.. so today I decided to just take some photos of some flowers I have in bloom to help all of us feel happier. :-) My cyclamen is doing well!I've got some blooms on ALL my Zygocactus in our garden window. This one is extremely special to me as I rescued this almost dead plant from my mom's room at the assisted living facility right before my Mom passed away. Each bloom is like a "hello!" from my mom. The color in this flower is my favorite color in the world..
Another shot of the mom cactus, and the white one to the far right is from my Aunt Helyn in Annapolis, Maryland. I'm so happy I got this start from her - she had this huge plant and told us when we visited last summer that she threw it away!
The mom one - this one is only half opened.
I went out to get a photo of my Snowdrops and I looked at the pond and noticed that the fish were out of hiding.. our 2 Koi have really gotten big over the winter!
Our granddaughters Jenna and Paige were with us when we bought them and named them Tiger and Flipper! :-)
The pond will need a cleaning in the spring to get all the leaves out of it that fell in over the fall and winter. We have HUGE patches of Snowdrops all over the farm. They are all around the chicken pen, too. Some were coming up under the chicken house and the hens ate them to smithereens. :-)
Did I cheer you up? I know I am feeling happier! And the sun is poking out, too. Hubby is taking me to lunch, grocery and flower shopping later. What are you doing this weekend? ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
