Bunny Dress Finale!

Are you tired of hearing about my knitted bunny dress yet?  Well, luckily for us both, I'm done.  :-)  I actually need to block it as the bottom hem curls UP.. but I had to take some photos first.  I also must admit, I cheated.. the neckline was very loose on her, so I took some of the pink/lavender Stylecraft DK, threaded it on a needle and sewed it through the top of the neckline and pulled it tight around her neck, tied a bow in the back, then hid it down in her dress.  :-)  But I'm very happy with the results!!  I think Miss Maggie Maria looks quite fetching in her dress over her cotton dress.  I got the dress knit pattern from Alicia Paulson and also the Bunny Kit - click HERE to visit her website.
Last evening after I was finally done I took MMM out to the pond for a fashion shoot.  She's a very willing model.
Now.. I'm thinking there needs to be a bit more embellishment.. just like me to want to do a bit more.  I told hubby, Mr. Fashionista, that I wanted to make a tiny pearl necklace for her and he said, "That would be a bit much for a peasant looking bunny".  PEASANT?  Excuse me???  I have these small freshwater pearls... we'll see.  AND... I also thought her dress would improve with a tiny fuchsia colored crocheted flower off to the left of the waistline.. what do you think?
We're having another sunny day here.. how about you?
Yesterday Dayle did some mowing of the pasture with his beloved Kubota tractor and tried to get the burn pile lit.. it didn't burn too well.  Buddy wanted to go see what his dad was up to and wee wee wee-ed until I took him out there.  That's him digging for moles.
Our healthy eating and smaller portions regimen has worked - Dayle has lost 7 lbs and I've lost 18 lbs.  Today I'm heading back to the pool to add exercise into the equation.  I haven't been swimming for a few months.. shame on me.Tomorrow I have a lunch date with my 2 sisters and sister Shirley.  Thursday we're going with the volunteers at the falls on the Mt. Hood Railroad trip up to Parkdale.  We're taking Kristi and the 2 littlies.  The bigger boys still have school. I hope you have a fun week ahead of you.  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  1. Way to go on the weight loss, Teresa! That's wonderful. You're doing a great job. I love the way the dress came out and I don't think she looks peasant-y at all. The necklace will be adorable. :)

  3. Miss Maggie is darling and so is her dress, you did good! I exercise in a pool too, usually 3 times a week, and I enjoy it. It sounds like your healthy eating is working and your exercising.

  4. Do you remember the beautiful lace style buttons you sent me and the tiny ribbon roses...wouldn't they be perfect for the dress? Shall I send you one of each back? Peasant indeed? Tut. Great job with the healthy eating. I need another kick start. xxx

  8. Whoopie, It's done and you figured it out and all! It looks superb! Great design and I think one of your little crocheted flowers or summin' would also look fab! Congratulations on losing weight that's something to be really proud of, for both of you. I bet you feel better!?! I'm trying to lose a few but it's a battle.
Enjoy your week my friend, xoRobin

  10. I love your bunny AND her dress! Great work! Healthy eating...you go, Girl! I began a healthy eating regimen last August. My daughter lured me with the Paleo diet (no wheat, no sugar). I had done something similar a few years ago and it worked well for me until I was diagnosed a second time with breast cancer...and I turned to cookies to be my friend though radiation. The love affair did NOT stop with the last dose of radiation. And the rest was history. I gained so much weight! Ugh. And I couldn't seem to get ahold of myself until my daughter planted the Paleo seed. I guess I was ready to do something...I started that day...that afternoon...that minute...and haven't looked back since. I added exercise in November.this week has been exciting for me at they gym as I have FINALLY gotten my pace on the treadmill up to a 15 minute mile. It was a long time coming and a personal goal...very thrilling to have attained it. I keep thinking of our friend, Kate, who has done a fabulous job of remaking herself. My next goal is to say something she wrote many months ago when she was able to declare she had lost the same number of pounds as her age. I'm oh so close to that achievement. It's a process...and a slow process at that, but I'm in it to stay. At the very least, I want to see the number on the scale that was there when I was diagnosed! In the meantime, I FEEL so much better! Sorry for the novel here. I started typing and it all just flowed out of me! Yikes! This is also the reason I'm less active in the land of blog...I try to stay busy every day and don't allow myself to sit around crocheting and blogging! LOL. Hugs to you and I'm so happy for your success! <3

  11. Celebrations all around for all your good reports, Teresa!!! Your pearls-not-for-peasant-bunnies discussion with Dayle made me lol and I am still smiling at you two, but to avoid taking sides on the issue, I will simply note that I trust your artistic ability to settle the matter beautifully :-) I'm still in the San Francisco Bay area and may drive with my oldest sister down to my older sister's home in southern CA, a days drive, before I head back north, probably next week. A friend drove with me today to the skilled nursing facility where my MIL is and we had a really good visit. Your plans for the week sound like fun, and I look forward to your report of your adventures! xx, Gracie

  13. The little bunny dress turned out darling and I do think pearls and a flower would be a nice touch as well. Were those little sleeves hard to do? It seems we lead somewhat similar lives, you and I. My pooches are always digging for moles and my gardener is always burning a brush pile somewhere on the property. :-) Good job on the weight loss! That's a lot of weight lost in a fairly short period of time! Good for you....you are inspiring me to do the same!
