Alternate Blue Moon

Ya gotta love the moon.  I thought the moon last night was a "Blue Moon" but my friend on Facebook, Kevynne, said it wasn't a true blue moon - so I looked it up and it's called an "alternate blue moon" because it's the third full moon in a season with 4 full moons instead of 3.  :-)  On Monday, our son Travis was doing some blackberry clearing on our old barn with a machete, and our DIL Kristi came to the house and asked for my camera as the moon had just risen and she could see the craters on it.  So I hiked out into the pasture to see it and she'd taken some neat photos of it, and I took a few too.
Last evening hubby and I decided to go out for dinner and also some moon chasing.  We drove up to Corbett and the moon had risen a fair bit and we got this shot of the moon over Mt. Hood in a lovely lavender sky.
Also a close up -- the moon is golden as there are many forest fires in our state so the particulate matter in the sky gave it a gilded look.
On Monday Caleb was dipping water out of the pond to water the flowers and he lost his balance and took a header into the pond!  He stood up and shook the water off and began to howl.  His daddy wrapped him in a towel and he crawled up in the chair next to me and slowly fell asleep.  Grandpa snapped this photo.  Awwwww.
We've been working for days to get everything put away from the camping trip.  When am I going to learn that I don't need to take all the things I took?  I cleared the dining table off yesterday of all the things that landed there - and trimmed down the Stargazer Lily down to 2 blooms and put them in a smaller vase.  We want to plant more bulbs of lilies for next summer blooming.  I unloaded 2 dishwasher loads and put them away and folded lots of laundry.  I am heading back to the pool today.  I have good news - after eating well on vacation, I was worried about putting some lbs. back on, but actually lost a few and am now down 30 lbs and Dayle is down 22!  Thanks for visiting and enjoy the last of summer.  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  2. A beautiful moon Teresa. That's the trouble with trips you have to come back and put everything away!!!! :-) Great while you're away though. Congrats on the weight loss. Hope Caleb is ok. Will be seeing my grandsons on Saturday. They are coming here for two nights on their way home from France. Can't wait to see them. Hugs Anne x

  3. It has been a long time since I have taken a pic of the moon so I will just enjoy the ones you posted. So sorry to hear about Caleb's misfortune. It must be the dog days of summer or something because my little grandson got stung by a bee right in their house and then the dog (a springer spaniel) knocked him over and stepped on his face. Thank goodness he didn't get but a bit of a red mark on his cheek, no eye damage, and thank goodness he wasn't allergic to bee stings. My daughter discovered over 300 bees in her house, more about on my next post. I bet you have been busy, that camping is work and I am sure it has kept you busy these past few days. One always forgets that until the next time to go again, lol.

Poor Caleb. I hope he's recovered and raring to go again by now.
