Dayle in Blizzard with Bird

Hello there!  I have just not seen anything since my last post that was in the least bit interesting to share with you.  SO.. I thought I'd share a video I took of Dayle a few years back during a blizzard.  The local TV news asked for people to send in videos of the weather and so I videoed Dayle walking the dog.  What was amazing is that when he turns and walks down to the barn, a bird flies out of the bushes and lands on his shoulder!  Do you see it?

I hope you're keeping warm where you are.  We're working on packing away all the Christmas decor, we're halfway done.  Maybe I'll show a photo of the table after I put something NEW on it.  LOL!  Thanks for visiting.

((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  1. Funny! Did Dayle know when the bird was on his shoulder or did he have to see the film to believe it. Buddy sure looks like he loves the snow. Hope you & yours had a great Christmas & New Years.

  2. The recording almost satisfies my hankering for a snowy day [where I can be inside knitting :) ] And yes, I saw the bird land on Dayle's shoulder! Exciting! Dayle must have looked like a safe port in the storm to the bird. I left out a few Christmas decorations, including the nativity you made for me. It is on the mantel surrounded by a little flock of sheep my mom made and "flying" over it an angel ornament Shari sent me last year when I won her give away. I still have thank you notes and correspondence to write, so had best get busy. Have a peaceful, renewing week end. xx

  5. You found the video!!! Yep. I saw the bird. That was really neat! We just got home from seeing "Saving Mr. Banks". It was really good. We haven't been to a movie in over 3 years and I'm very glad we went to this one.
    Blessings,

  7. What an amazing video! I enjoy a snow day but only if it is completely clear from all roads and pavements the following day - and if the snow could just appear at weekends that would be ideal!!!!

Hope the New Year is getting off to a terrific start for you all.

  8. Hello Teresa .. I missed not reading your blog while having my breakfast this morning. Glad all is well. Oh boy that weather sure does look cold - oh and yes, I saw the bird. I often wonder about the different accents that you have in America, and it was interesting hearing Dayle talk.

  11. How cool is that? Dayle with a bird perched quickly on his shoulder. It is even chilly here, yesterday was a high of 49, I know it is all relative.
    Hags and stay warm,
    Meredith

  14. Great video. I do not miss those kind of winters though. I wonder if Dayle had stool the bird would have stayed on his shoulder?

  17. Girl, I hear ya, and how cool was that with your hubby and the bird. Poor thing, it musta wanted to get into his hat to keep warm. Did he even know it flew onto his shoulder? We are bracing ourselves for more snow starting tonight but the worst is suppose to come tomorrow around noon, snowing 2 inches per hour with 6+ inches in the forecast. But the worse is yet to come with temps on Monday and Tuesday being anywhere from 20 to 40 degrees below zero. Now I ask, where is the global warming everyone is spouting about? I now feel I no longer live in Ohio but it could be Alaska. I just hope my power does not go out cause I have to figure out how to light that propane ventless heater in the basement to keep the house from completely freezing up. I may have to drain the pipes. The weather man said this will be a record breaker.........God help us now is all I can say.

  20. Ha-ha! That's funny. Obviously he didn't feel it through his thick parka. He just kept on walking. And that little birdie probably thought, oops! :) Best wishes, Tammy

  21. That is hilarious!

We are keeping warm ... it's about twenty below and the wind chills are down in the minus forties. We leave the water trickling all night in the kitchen and a heat lamp aimed at the pipes under the sink. And thank goodness for flannel sheets! :)
