Roses are Red, Yellow and Pink

Hello, how is the week treating you?  We went shopping at Costco yesterday and a bouquet of 2 dozen rose buds jumped into our cart.  :-)

Kristi the wonder DIL has been working on clearing out our 2nd bedroom upstairs and found a basket of linens (I have no idea why they were in there) and I was so happy to see a long lost tablecloth of mine!  I got it for New Years Eve years ago and couldn't find it.  So, here it is, freshly laundered and on the table.. just 22 days too late, but oh well!

It's hard to get a good photo with all that light behind the flowers.  Although our sun is on holiday today and our sky is grey.  But it's actually rather calming not to have all that brilliant sun streaming in the windows.  :-)

Don't you love the deep dark secrets held in a rose bud, ready to unfurl in all it's glory?

Pretty in Pink.

The Yellow Rose of Texas.

And ladies and gentlemen.. I present the 2nd bedroom "after" photo.  We did not dare to take a before picture.  LOL!  Kristi has cleared it, cleaned it and is going to steam clean the carpet until we have new carpet installed.  I'm thinking a buttery brownish color - the color of Buddy.  And lighter paint, possibly a light yellow.  This will be the boys play room and bedroom.  We'll be shopping for bunk beds after it's all done.

I am rather looking forward to decorating with some red hearts, but will wait until Feb. 1st.  In a few hours I will head to the pool to meet up with Gracie for some swimming.  My heart loves me for it.  :-)  Dayle will be going in for his knee replacement surgery next Tuesday.  Please keep him in your good thoughts.  I will likely get a lot done on Caleb's blanket while sitting with Dayle in the waiting room and then in his room after the surgery.  More news.. I booked a flight to Ohio yesterday - I'm visiting my daughter and granddaughters during their Spring vacation!  Flying in on March 27th and returning on April 8th.  Dayle is staying home, he thinks it would be a bit early to walk that much on his new knee.  Well.. time to pack my swim bag and head out soon.  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  2. Isn't it funny how stuff jumps into your trolley at Costco? I have the same trouble whenever I go there. What a gorgeous display of roses though - guess you didn't mind them wanting to go home with you. Kristi has done a great job with your 2nd bedroom and I'm sure the boys will love having a place of their own. You're such a good girl doing all that swimming ... wish I could muster up the energy/motivation to go. xox

Love your second bedroom with a bench seat in it--it will be so nice for your grandsons to have their own place to play:)
I've already started decorating for Valentine's Day...but have plans for more this week and then maybe the week thereafter--LOL
Hurray for your upcoming visit to Ohio, but sorry to hear that your hubby won't be able to come with you.

  5. Lots of news today! I didn't know Dayle was having knee replacement surgery. I'll definitely keep him on my prayer list. And fun, fun, happy, happy! You get to go see your girls. I know how happy that makes your heart. I love it.
Your flowers are beautiful and the upstairs bedroom looks like a perfect space for the boys. Kristi is a big help isn't she?
I've already got my heart garland up...but you know that from my blog. I needed some happy color here as the skies have been so gray. Enjoy your swimming and say hi to Gracie for me.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  6. Fantastic job Kristi. Teresa is so very lucky to have you there to organize everything. You are a gem!
Perhaps the next bouquet of roses will be for your efforts!

Safe surgery and speedy recovery on your knee Dayle. You'll be kicking up your heels before you know it.

The colors for the boys room sound so pretty. You'll have to take Buddy with you when you pick out the carpet.

  13. Gosh those roses are gorgeous! Color the carpet of your dog is a good idea. I have two fawn pugs and they are shedding like mad even though we are having weather in the single digits here. I wear mostly khaki; works for me!

  16. The roses are lovely and the 2nd room is nice. Our rooms are full, being used by all 3 of us. Our adult daughter has 2 rooms. Praying Dayle's surgery goes well. I'm feeling much better, probably because we had sun for 2 days! Finally! Take care!

We have chocolate brown carpet in our bedroom, it is fantastic, doesn't show a thing. And with a room that is busy with boys, it might be a good option. Love your gorgeous flowers. I know you are so looking foreard to seeing your girls, I bet they can not wait to see you too.
    hugs to you Teresa,

  24. Love all the colors of the roses. And Kristie did a great job in the room. Tell Dayle he is in my thoughts. I have had both knees replaced and a revision on one because of damage from RA. He will do fine. Just be sure he does all the therapy he is suppose to do. So glad you will be seeing your grands in March. Hugs, Sharon

  25. How strange that those flowers jumped into your basket ;-) Although we didn't get a 'before' photo I can imagine and Kristi has done an excellent job!

Give Dayle my best, its not going to be nice after the op but as long as he gets walking and used to it, then he should be loooooads better. And hurah!! I'm so glad you're off to see your daughter & granddaughters (and son in law!) I absolutely love it when my mum gets to visit and I know she will too x
