Watercolor Painting 4U

My dearest readers... as I was perusing Facebook yesterday, my friend from Prince Snow Farm posted a beautiful image of a watercolor painting.. but wait.. it was done by an app called Waterlogue!  I immediately downloaded the app and started converting some of my favorite photos to the most amazingly FABULOUS watercolor paintings!  (I am not being paid to do this.)  So, I am about to share some of these and show you what you can do with this app if you decide to use it.  First, the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse in Newport, Oregon.  What do you think?

Remember the jar photo from the other day?  Look at this conversion!  I love it!

Remember the forest photo from the other day?  You can choose all kinds of different effects.. this is one with more color, the first color is called "natural".

Here is the boat that is at the Astoria Maritime Museum.  It's amazing to me how it makes it look like it's done on watercolor paper with the color bleeding and all.  As a person who has done watercolors, this totally looks like a real painting!

This one is of the fishing boat harbor and the bridge in Yaquina Bay, Newport, OR.  I did a similar image for my brother as an oil painting.

Here is one of the windmill on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts.  My sister Roberta and I spent 4 days there a few years ago.  We are descendants of the Coffin Family who were some of the original owners of the island.

While on that trip we visited the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, PA - you can see Independence Hall behind it.

This is a photo of the White House when I was in Washington DC.

I was particularly captivated by the watercolor image of our Christmas tree and fireplace.  Hmm.. next year's card?

And then.. our house in the snow.. oh my.

And then the 4449, a restored steam engine originally Southern Pacific RR daylight run between Portland and Los Angeles.

Vista House and the gorge.. this didn't pick up Vista House, but it's still pretty.

Multnomah Falls Lodge in the Fall.

One of my favorite photos ever.. our Sunfish sailboats in Amy's Blue Lagoon at Waldo Lake - our swimming spot.

Me sailing my Sunfish across the lake coming from the lagoon on the way back to Shadow Bay campground.  :-)

The barn in the snow.

A windmill in the flat Oklahoma farm lands.. where I was born.

Mt. Rushmore on our trip back from Oklahoma, we drive 5,000 miles pulling our trailer and seeing Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Washington and back to Oregon.  :-)

Multnomah Falls.

My Mt. Hood and White House in the Autumn photo.

Haystack Rock, Cannon Beach, Oregon.

And lastly, my lighthouse photo of Yaquina Head south of Newport, Oregon.

Now, my friends.. I do watercolor painting and each time I take a pretty photo I wish I could paint it.. so these images are a dream come true for me.  What do you think?  I'm off to swimming soon and then honey and I will go up to see our sweet little 5 year old grandson in a wrestling match.. yes, they begin this sport young, huh?  Then to celebrate, we're all going out to dinner.  I hope you have a fun week going.  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  12. That's pretty neat. I've always enjoyed watercolor paintings and it's fun to see everyday scenes, especially, rendered this way.

  19. You are the second person to mention that app and I know I wrote it down somewhere. I see you are having fun with it already and so many of your photos look pretty. I especially like the one of your house, then the barn, the falls, OH MY! They all look great. The person who mentioned them said this app would be great for making Christmas cards and I remember she had done her Yorkie. I bet your little Buddy would turn out good using that app.
