Fun on the Farm

Hi there!  I'm glad you stopped in.  Want to see the pool that our son and DIL have installed behind the play structure?  It took some doing.  There is a slope there to our "back 40" and Travis had to use the tractor to level the space.  He built a wooden frame and made sure it was level to put soil and sand in for the pool base.  Then they put the pool together.. now they're filling it and setting up the filter, etc.  Here are the boys skimming the pool for leaves and bugs.  Daddy gave them haircuts.. for which daddy is in trouble.  :-)

The pool has sun all day except for some shadows in the evening.

Time for swinging.. oh how they love to fly through the air!  I love seeing them have fun.

I saw that there were tiny apples on the tree!

I asked the boys to pull some grass for the chickens.  The girls are giving us a steady supply of eggs, bless them.

The Mock orange is blooming high above the shed.

A foxglove we planted in the last few years popped up in one of my pots.

In one of our pots of lilies, some Rose Campion popped up - I don't pull them out as I love them.

The Double Delight is opening..

I was out and about yesterday and saw this amazing planting of pansies.. what a treat!

I must dash -- we have a Portland Women's Forum meeting and the new officers will be sworn in.  I will be assuming the position of Treasurer.  Dayle is going to help me as he was the Secretary/Treasurer for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers for 25 years.  I hope you have a wonderful day and weekend ahead!  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  1. The pool looks awesome. I know everyone will enjoy it. :) The flowers are always so pretty. Love that Rose Campion, too. I would also leave it. :) Enjoy your new adventures... you will be great at it I just know. Blessings always sweet friend.

  2. I think there is going to be two very happy and wet little boys as soon as that pool warms up. Very fun. Love all your flowers Teresa.

  3. Your garden is very pretty and the kids are going to love the pool this summer. Our spring was fairly cool, so most of our plantings are behind. Enjoy your day. Heather

  4. Uh-oh! Well, at least it's only hair and will grow back. Perhaps Travis can come give my son a haircut. He hasn't had one in 2 years. But I can't talk. Haven't cut mine since April 2013. Oops! The boys will enjoy the pool. They are lucky to have so much room to run and explore. Everything is blooming beautiful where you are. Best wishes, Tammy

  5. That pool looks so refreshing especially since it's 102 here in deep South Texas
How nice to have an apple tree. I am thing apple pie...:)
Your flowers are so pretty too.

  6. Oh the pool and the swinging look like SO much fun. Beautiful flowers in your garden, it's all looking so lovely at the moment. The rose campion is really striking, I certainly wouldn't pull it out either. Hope you have a good meeting Teresa. CJ xx

  7. Happy swearing in. Love the pool

  8. Enjoyed my visit with you on the farm, Teresa, and the display of pansies you showed is spectacular! Where is it located? I am sitting on a shaded deck, a lovely warm breeze wafting by, flowers and trees waving at me, and the sound of nearby business machinery being productive. Wish you could enjoy it with me, but I am glad you are having happy days xx

  9. The boys are going to have a blast this summer! Your other grandchildren will love it when they visit too. How fun! Beautiful flowers as always. I love seeing what you grow. Congratulations and enjoy the ceremony.

  10. Ahhh, By Gracie's comment I see the two of you have gotten together yet again without me. :-( I miss the three of you like crazy.
The boys look like they can't wait to dive right in as soon as the water is warm enough. Summer fun ahead for them. What an wonderful life for kids. A farm, complete with chickens, swings and a pool. The flowers are gorgeous as usual especially the rose and the display of pansies. Where is it?

  11. Nice pool! The boys look SO excited and will enjoy it all summer I am sure.
PS: Now you and Gracie can swim at your farm:)

  12. You must be thrilled to be having your own pool now. Now you and Gracie can swim right there and how handy that will be. All your blooms and blossoms are so pretty. I am having fits at my place. Dealing with some sort of crisis on a daily basis and it would now be ground hogs, raccoons, chipmunks, hornets and a snake in the woodpile, lol. It is like a wild animal preserve.
    Have a great weekend,
    Susanne :)

  13. Oh my the hair cuts..... lol and what fun to have a pool xoxo

  14. Oh what fun the boys will have in their new pool! I grew up with an above ground pool. Our kids had one, until we moved here. Gotta love it!

    Happy weekend!

  16. Do you think your grandsons might be just a little bit spoilt??? I bet they'll have a lot of fun in that pool. As always, I loved your photos of flowers - so vibrant and beautiful. Have a great weekend Teresa xox
