Fun on the Farm

Hi there!  I'm glad you stopped in.  Want to see the pool that our son and DIL have installed behind the play structure?  It took some doing.  There is a slope there to our "back 40" and Travis had to use the tractor to level the space.  He built a wooden frame and made sure it was level to put soil and sand in for the pool base.  Then they put the pool together.. now they're filling it and setting up the filter, etc.  Here are the boys skimming the pool for leaves and bugs.  Daddy gave them haircuts.. for which daddy is in trouble.  :-)

The pool has sun all day except for some shadows in the evening.

Time for swinging.. oh how they love to fly through the air!  I love seeing them have fun.

I saw that there were tiny apples on the tree!

I asked the boys to pull some grass for the chickens.  The girls are giving us a steady supply of eggs, bless them.

The Mock orange is blooming high above the shed.

A foxglove we planted in the last few years popped up in one of my pots.

In one of our pots of lilies, some Rose Campion popped up - I don't pull them out as I love them.

The Double Delight is opening..

I was out and about yesterday and saw this amazing planting of pansies.. what a treat!

I must dash -- we have a Portland Women's Forum meeting and the new officers will be sworn in.  I will be assuming the position of Treasurer.  Dayle is going to help me as he was the Secretary/Treasurer for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers for 25 years.  I hope you have a wonderful day and weekend ahead!  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  3. Your garden is very pretty and the kids are going to love the pool this summer. Our spring was fairly cool, so most of our plantings are behind. Enjoy your day. Heather

  4. Uh-oh! Well, at least it's only hair and will grow back. Perhaps Travis can come give my son a haircut. He hasn't had one in 2 years. But I can't talk. Haven't cut mine since April 2013. Oops! The boys will enjoy the pool. They are lucky to have so much room to run and explore. Everything is blooming beautiful where you are. Best wishes, Tammy

  8. Enjoyed my visit with you on the farm, Teresa, and the display of pansies you showed is spectacular! Where is it located? I am sitting on a shaded deck, a lovely warm breeze wafting by, flowers and trees waving at me, and the sound of nearby business machinery being productive. Wish you could enjoy it with me, but I am glad you are having happy days xx

  10. Ahhh, By Gracie's comment I see the two of you have gotten together yet again without me. :-( I miss the three of you like crazy.
The boys look like they can't wait to dive right in as soon as the water is warm enough. Summer fun ahead for them. What an wonderful life for kids. A farm, complete with chickens, swings and a pool. The flowers are gorgeous as usual especially the rose and the display of pansies. Where is it?

  12. You must be thrilled to be having your own pool now. Now you and Gracie can swim right there and how handy that will be. All your blooms and blossoms are so pretty. I am having fits at my place. Dealing with some sort of crisis on a daily basis and it would now be ground hogs, raccoons, chipmunks, hornets and a snake in the woodpile, lol. It is like a wild animal preserve.
    Have a great weekend,
    Susanne :)
