Friends Across the World

Hi there!  How is your week going?  I got a package a few days ago and wondered what I would have coming from Kuwait?  I opened it up and what did I see?  A beautiful hand-crocheted doily!  And a sweet card with a hand-written note from my blog friend, Tammy!  She said she sent a little surprise my way to thank me for my online friendship!  WOW!  What a generous and thoughtful gift!  Tammy is a busy and creative woman who lives in Kuwait with her husband and two sons.  She has a job, is a creative and healthy cook for her family and is an amazing crafter!  She is so generous that she gives much of her work as gifts to friends and to charities.  Do visit her at T's Daily Treasures.  I know you'll love her as much as I do!  :-)  Thanks, Tammy!

I love the bright shade of red.. it fits right into my home!

Kristi found a Robin's egg and brought it to me.  What a beautiful turquoise color they are!

The boys have decided they want to be pirates and made little paper eye patches - I told them I'd make some better ones for them so I cut black felt and made yarn ties - we used kitchen towels for their pirate head scarves.  :-)  I drew some swords onto cardboard and Dayle cut them out with an exacto knife.  They are saying "ARGHHH" for me!  LOL!

The Robin's eggs nestled in my soft cotton "nest".

I am almost done with my latest crochet project - a neat ripple pillow cover.  I have a plan to keep making crochet covered pillows until I have them all over the house!  :-)

The other evening I spotted the moon rising right above the trees up on the hill pasture behind our house.. I actually snapped this photo from my easy chair inside the house and through the window!  Tammy and I share a habit of posting moon photos.. this one is for you, Tammy!!  :-)

Soon I will head off to swim with Gracie.  We're in a heat wave here in Oregon.. I'm glad we got a new AC unit - we have one in the main part of the house and one in our master bedroom.  We'll stay cool during this hot time.  I hope you're enjoying the summer and keeping cool.. for those in the other hemisphere.. I hope you're warm enough!  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  3. Fantastic pirates! And a really lovely moon photo. I would have taken one tonight if I'd had time, it was looking beautiful. The robin's egg blue is gorgeous, and I love their smooth surface against the texture of the crochet. I hope you and Dayle have a really good weekend. CJ xx

  6. What a great photo of the moon -- just perfect. What a nice surprise to receive the doily, such a cheerful color. Seeing your pirates reminds me of when my kids were little. We once created a batmobile with a ride-on fire truck, cardboard and paint. Fun times.

  7. I saw a broken Robins egg on my walk the other day and thought…second broods are hatching! I think this moon is making too many babies come. I had a heck of a night in newborn nursery the other day. THey were coming faster than I could keep up !

  10. Was the robins egg abandoned? I'd hate to think it wasn't. Mama bird will be so confused & certainly upset.

  12. Beautiful doily--love the red and design! Speaking of red--did you see the skies around sunset and twilight tonight? Beautiful! It seemed our area was glowing in red!
I am craving frozen fruit juice bars, snow cones, iced anything right now---way too hot and humid for comfort :(
    Blessings,

  14. Awww those two boys of your sure are little cuties. They make very scary pirates (you can tell them that from me) ... Gosh that doily is RED !!! Lovely generous gift from your friend. I love the idea of your crochet cushions all over the house - they'll look so homely - although your home already looks beautiful and welcoming ! By the way, its freezing down here and I think I might have to go and get into my bed with Madison (our cat) who is like a hot water bottle that never goes cold. xox
