Full Moon, Shamrocks and Blanket

Hello my fine friends!  How are you doing today?  I hope well!  On Wednesday evening I went out with my camera to capture an image of the moon.  It was the night before it being totally full, but to me it looked FULL!  My Lumix camera has a 30 zoom and it works well for my beloved moon shots, but I have to crop it to get this close-ness -- if I ever could find a 40 zoom I think it would be perfect.  My son has a 50 zoom and it actually zooms in so far that you just get a portion of the moon.. but it sure does show the craters on the edge well!

I'm glad I got the clearer image on Wednesday as last night when it was supposed to be totally full, there was a slight haze in the sky, which gave a nice halo to the moon, but the clarity was not as good.  I admit it, I'm a "Moonie".

A bit ago I was admiring the flowers on the table and snapped this shot from my easy chair... :-)

I have 2 Shamrock plants in our family room window, one is red and I've only had it for 5 or 6 years -- but the green one hails back as much as 40 years as I got the tubers from my mother who had a green thumb -- which I think she gave to me! :-)  I'm showing you my Shamrocks in honor of St. Patrick's Day on March 17th.

I adore the red leafed one as it's little delicate flowers are PINK!

The flowers on the green one are pure white with green centers with yellow stamens.

The Shamrock leaves *love* the light and so I'm always looking at the back of the leaves as they put their faces to the window.

I thought I'd show you where I'm at with my ripple cotton blanket.  In a few moments I will be prevailing upon my dear husband Dayle to help me roll up the pink cotton into a ball so I can get started with the next row.  It's name is "Ice Lily", then will come "Spearmint", then "Lichen" then the last row will be the gold color in the beginning.  Then it will be done.  Not long, really.  I've enjoyed the process of this - the soft sumptuous cotton, the interesting colors, the neat ripple and most of all, Lucy at Attic24's unique "interlocking color" idea she came up with and shared with her gazillions of admirers.  I truly believe that she has inspired quite literally a million people to take up crocheting.  Bravo to Lucy in England!

We are heading off to run some errands this afternoon and to enjoy the sunshine and warmth.  If you're buried in snow, please let me send you some of our early Spring.. we have enough to share!  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  1. Well, Teresa, I think I'll take you up on sending some of that Spring this direction. :D lol Great moon pics, and I love your shamrock pics. My mom had shamrock plants. I don't know if my brother kept them going after she passed or not. I hope so. I don't have any good places to put plants or I'd have a bunch of them. Your blanket looks amazing! Love the colors, and it looks like it's going to be soooo comfy! Have a great weekend! :)

  2. Lovely ripples. My littlest boy wants a blanket, I'm wondering if I could master ripples. Or maybe I'll stick with something simpler. We shall see. I think he is expecting me to knock it out in a couple of evenings. I hope you have a good weekend Teresa. CJ xx

  6. The other day at the grocery store I was tempted to get a Shamrock plant, but resisted, and now I can admire yours in this post instead :) Your moon photos are lovely...the moon has been so pretty shining through my bedroom window the last few nights, but as you noted, it was hazy last night. Your blanket is coming along splendidly! Wishing you and yours a happy weekend :-) xx

  8. Wow! Teresa, a forty year old plant, that is a huge thing to me. I can grow flowers, vegetables and all sorts of plants outside, but I tell people that if it is in my house and it is green . . . then it is silk. When it comes to house plants I have a black thumb. I like the green one with the white blossoms. So pretty :)
Outstanding moon shots, too. We were admiring it last night, we saw it early when it was low on the horizon and it looked huge:)
I'm sure that you have about the same weather as us, and we are expecting temperatures in the mid 60's all next week. I'm so excited!
    Have a great weekend.
    Connie :)

  10. A happy post today Teresa. I hope your shoulder is back to feeling perfect again. I've been thinking of you. And I'll take you up on the spring thoughts. We got about 11 inches of snow yesterday here at Mandy's house. Dennis has been calling to tell me that it's around 60 in Spokane everyday. 0F predicted here tonight! Brrrrr. So, I'm enjoying your daffodils and shamrocks and your pretty, pretty blanket.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  17. I thought of you twice today, first when I made sure I knew where my beautiful shamrock earrings are for St Patricks day and secondly when I started a Miss Mollie rabbit (completely inspired by yours as I mentioned on my blog post, the first one for ages). Then I come over here to see what you're up to and am reminded again how great it is when people let you have a peak inside their lives! What a great blanket and beautiful touch of springtime!

  19. Your shamrocks are so pretty. I've never grown them before, but I think they're such a nice, natural-looking plant to have around. The green is very fresh. Your blanket is really pretty, it's coming along very nicely.

  20. Your dining table looks so pretty and springy with all the fresh flowers and candles. You have such great natural light in that space. I really want to buy a shamrock plant in honor of St. Patrick's day this year... they are so pretty and green. I love St. Patrick's day and I'm already planning my special dinner menu for the day. I thought my daughter was going to be a St. Patty's day baby, but decided to come two days later. Anyway it's fun that her birthday is just right after the holiday, and we always seem to decorate with lots of green for her parties! Also, your blanket is coming along so nicely. Hope you are having a great weekend!
