Blog Girls Luncheon

Greetings!  I hosted a luncheon for 3 of my blogger friends today and we had a nice time.  Gracie, Taci and Becky joined me at the farm.  We had the fire blazing, candles lit, Christmas music playing and lunch ready to come out of the oven.

After I saw this photo I though.. oh dang.. I didn't have the pillows arranged properly or the candles lit.  LOL!  Oh well!

I just love having a fire in the living room.. the sound of the cracking and popping and the warmth.  Good thing there is no chocolate in those stockings yet.  :-)

Two of my little crocheted stocking ornaments.  The green one is Dayles - but I made one for myself and it's totally missing.

My crocheted ball.. kinda didn't turn out how I had envisioned but I still like it.

Kristi found two empty metal frame ornaments so I printed up the boys school photos and put them in.. on the back in gold ink I wrote their name and the year.. years down the line I hope they will have these and remember me when they read the back.

Buddy seems to be waiting for our company to arrive, too.  :-)

Kristi had the table set before I arose this morning.. my DIL is amazing!

From left.. moi, Taci, Gracie and Becky.

Does this look like deja vu?  We baked the rest of the ham and the second pan of "Classic Bistro Style Gratin Dauphinoise" - French gratin potatoes.  Gracie brought green beans, Taci brought rolls from her friend's bakery, Becky brought deviled eggs and some fudge to share.  We also had some broccoli salad that Kristi made.

The Brioche rolls were delicious and made this morning.

After lunch we retired to the living room and chatted and opened presents.

I gave each of the girls a pair of hand-rolled beeswax candles that I made - that was also the gift I gave my sisters and Shirley.  Dayle cut some fresh holly from our huge tree and some cedar for me to decorate them with.  :-)  They smell like honey - just divine.

The girls gifted us with fun things, Taci gave us a hand-towel kit (she is selling these on Etsy - you might want to check them out), a crocheted bird and a bag of Hershey kisses, Gracie brought a cute tin with a sewing kits and 3 jingle bells, with a yarn Bonbon on top! Becky brought a calendar she made using her own photos and a holiday coaster.  Thanks, ladies!

We returned to the dining table where we had dessert - Kristi made us a "Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Tart".. oh it was delicious!  Also homemade whipped cream with Bourbon Vanilla.  :-)

Our son Travis and DIL Kristi took the boys to her sister's for the weekend and will spend the evening with them.  So, Dayle and I are relaxing and watching TV.  I hope you are finding time for relaxation during this busy season.

I will be doing a blog post on Monday showing you how to make the beeswax candles I made.. sound good?  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  1. We moved my Mom & Dad last year and that's where we cut our holly for the holidays. Too bad they are enormous shrubs/trees. I miss having it available to decorate with. I still have fir and cedar and pinecones. I'm making do (sigh). Love your beeswax candles. They are very prettily posed.

  3. I. Am. So. Jealous. Really I am. I was supposed to be there too. Oh well. I guess that's life, but I really miss you girls. I haven't seen Taci in so long. Everything looks so perfect. The gifts you got for each other are so nice. I'm glad you had a wonderful time together. And Kristi is a gem to be sure. Give Buddy a hug for me. I remember he liked my lap when we visited. :-) Maybe next year I'll be able to be at the party. I will remain hopeful.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  4. Oh yes please Teresa. Your beeswax candles are beautiful and look wonderful tied up with holly. Such a fabulous gift to give/receive. When I saw the photo I wondered how they were made. Your DIL sounds a very special person and so kind with her help she gives you. Your home looks beautiful and so welcoming. While you are keeping warm by the crackling fire we are drinking cold cold drink, lemonade ice blocks, bare feet because it's too hot to wear shoes. A ll the best and merry Christmas.Hugs Shirley N.Z.
