Hearts, Hats and Snow Moon

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day!  I put my heart-y tablecloth on the table and did a bit of decorating.  I must say, we're having some great sunshine but it does not make a nice photo op.  :-)

My pink Cyclamen is perfect for the table.

I have a basket of little hats that I'm taking to my DAR meeting is a bit.  I've made them for US Military families who are expecting a baby.  For "Operation Diaper Bag".

Here are my little fuzzy hats.

I walked out on the deck in my stocking feet on Saturday night to get a photo of the "Snow Moon".  Friday was the big moon night but we had cloud cover so no photo.. but I got this one!

I saw this on Facebook and it cracked me up.  You can actually order this, the url for the company is on the bottom of this image.  It's in response to what happened to Senator Elizabeth Warren when she was testifying in Jeff Sessions debate.  Mitch McConnell told her to cease speaking and sit down.  She was trying to read from Coretta Scott King's letter regarding Session's racist behavior many years before.  He said "She was warned. She was given an explanation.  Nevertheless, she persisted."  Interestingly, later on in the debate several MALE Democrats read the entire letter and were not interrupted.  Hmmm.

I am sorry if you are unhappy to read my "political" posts, but our country is faced now with unprecedented peril due to the new leadership and I will not stop sharing my concerns and speaking out.  The German people were silent when 11 million people were killed because they weren't aryan.  I will not be silent.

((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  3. Thank you for continuing to speak up, Teresa. We cannot be silent. Love those words, "she persisted". Persistence is such a good virtue! The baby hats are adorable. I've been meaning to ask you for the instructions as I would like to make some, too, for the military families. Happy Valentine's Day!

  7. Beautiful moon photo! It was cloudy here, so couldn't see the eclipse. Someone should stitch that pattern and send it to MMC!

  9. I don't even cross stitch and I want to order that. We cannot bury our heads in the sand and think that all of this is okay. BLogging should be about your life, and I applaud you for speaking out. What happens if we stop speaking, if we are silenced or just pretend all of this isn't happening? Keep speaking out Teresa, we all need to.

  10. My mother was born in Germany and lived there during World War 11. This past summer whenever she saw Trump on t.v. She would get very upset and scared. I asked why he frightened her so much and she said it reminded her of when Hitler came to power. These are truly troubling times. Please Teresa, keep speaking up.

  11. We've had a string of sunshiny days too and we've had a little bit of snow melt, but you still can't see out of the car windows when you back out of the driveway! The snow is still about 3 foot deep in our front yard. Love you little baby hats and I know they'll make some families very happy.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  15. Happy Valentine's Day Teresa. Your blog is yours and you only decide what to share. The current times are political and it is important to keep open a dialogue. I am always interested in what you write be it craft, politics or anything else.

OH and that moon! We saw it from the hot tub Friday night. LAST night though driving in from our old home in Glenview to Lake Geneva we saw the current phase in a orange cast and it was gorgeous. I did not get a good photo....Yours is terrific
