Two Turtle Doves

Our two big hanging planters are doing well and growing fast.  I love these orange "Million Bells".

We were visited by a pair of Doves over the weekend.  This dove is actually a Ring necked Dove and also a Cape Turtle Dove.  Our pond and stream attract a lot of wildlife, birds bathe in it daily.  Then they fly up in our trees and preen and clean their feathers after their bath.  Do you see them keeping a beady eye on me?  :-)

So my photos catch them with their feathers ruffled, not smooth.  Who you looking at?  You looking at me?  Huh?

I see you!

While watching the doves I saw that the moon was showing in the day.. not a full moon but still pretty.

So.. our cousins are flying in today.. dinner will be tonight.  We've spiffed up the house and soon I will set the table.  We are grilling filet mignon and I'm baking some big potatoes and Kristi is making a broccoli salad and a zucchini cake with cream cheese frosting with a special "secret" ingredient, Fiori di Sicilia.  A combination of citrus and vanilla.  :-)  I will take some photos, of course.  To be continued.

Tomorrow we embark on a tour of the gorge, lunch at Multnomah Falls and ending up in Hood River.  Then on Wednesday driving up to Mt. Hood and Timberline Lodge.  Then to the beach.  I will not be able to comment on my favorite blogs during this time as we'll be very busy.  But I'll be back soon.  Ciao bella!  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  9. Just realized today is Tuesday and I missed seeing this Monday post! Thanks for sharing your great photos and your narrative. I enjoyed the dove conversation :). Driving in to camp we saw a little flock of turkeys ...no pictures :(. Tim drove in Sunday night and reported that a skunk was trotting down the road ahead of him for quite some way and Tim did not try to scare the skunk. Tim just kept a respectful distance for which I am glad because he was driving my van! I am imagining you having a wonderful time with your cousins. We are enjoying the east side views of Mt. Hood from our car travels and you will soon be enjoying the views from the top of Mt. Hood. Yay! XX
