Little Pumpkin and Dayle's Hat

I crocheted the little stem and the tendril and added them to my little ridged pumpkin.  What a clever pattern!  The stem even includes a little star at the base which is how pumpkin stems really grow.  I was inspired by Lucy at Attic24 blog and she gives credit to the designer where you can get the pattern by Planet June.  I want to try one like Lucy came up with with the stripes.

When I ordered the yarn for my nephew's hat, I got a 2nd skein of reds and blues.  I asked Dayle if he'd like a hat made out of this and he said yes, so I've begun one for him.

That's about all I have.. :-)  We have no plans for the weekend.. how about you?  I'll likely have a completed hat to share with you on Monday.  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  1. The pumpkin looks so cute...I want to make one, and Dayle's hat will be handsome! I got a kit to knit a hat with hand spun yarn on large needles. I finished it last night and have tried it on various heads in our household. It is wonky...might try to felt it. This afternoon I shopped for stained glass making supplies with Elisabeth for her birthday. She's excited :) Happy Weekend! xx

  4. Aww darling pumpkin!!!
Weekend plans changed. Checked with old neighbors to see if they were sniffling before they came up for dinner. Can't have the broken ribbed Fireman catching a cold. Sneezing is most uncomfortable. Low and behold yes they were going to come despite colds......
I really don't like that. Glad I asked and held them off.
We are meeting a friend tonight instead whose is moving her mom to a skilled care facility this weekend. She is in town from LA. I love her

  5. That pumpkin sure is sweet. I’ve been seen pumpkins on blogs all over the place this year. Next year I hope to have a few made. With all the snow we’re getting I’m ready to put my snowman out instead of Thanksgiving decorations. I love the yarn for Dayle hat. It’s so bright and pretty.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  6. What a sweet little pumpkin! I don't have the patience for small crochet work, I am not very good with the hook. I have some chores and errands this weekend, and bonfire night. Quiet overall I hope. Have a good weekend. xx

  9. I like your crocheted pumpkins! Fun idea for this time of year. We had a harvest dinner after church today at the high school. It's always fun to sit and talk with friends and eat lots of food. I'm hoping to get some photos printed out today. I'm behind in my calendar work....what's new!? ;-} It's not raining so will go on a walk while it's still light outside! Happy week my friend!
