Young men, sent to serve their country. Tell Dayle thank you from me, for his service. I am one who knows the value of country. I became a naturalized citizen when I was around 31 years old, but I came to this country when I was 3. If my mom would have become a citizen before my brother and I turned either 16 or 18 we would have automatically been one too, but she waited too long for it to happen. My guy was a vet, as you know, and he talked very little about the war, but he was proud to be an American, and I was proud of him. My daughter just recently got an iPad and today I got to try it out for myself. Pretty neat, so I understand why your grandson would be so engrossed in his game. They are addictive and can be lots of fun. Your lush green surroundings are surely showing the signs of the season's change. You mentioned tulip trees, or was it sweet gum (?) and I know we have them here in Ohio too. I don't have either in my yard. They are showy in the fall, bright colored leaves, so pretty. The Japanese maple is pretty, but out here I can't keep one cause they are in too open of a space. People in town can grow them because they are more sheltered. I always loved their feathery leaves, their delicate appearance. <br />Susanne :) Susanne Tyreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04271812578614840958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8865022255438031627.post-26988223274836936192013-11-12T16:41:24.854-08:002013-11-12T16:41:24.854-08:00Veterans Day is so important and, I feel, sometime...Veterans Day is so important and, I feel, sometimes overlooked. My mom's dad was WWI, in the Army, had a couple cousins in the Army and my brother in the Navy, my brother in law in the Coast Guard and my husband and I in the Air Force. Daughter was in Navy boot camp 2 wks when she was hurt. That was 7 yrs ago. It's amazing when you look back on the lineage of military service in the family. I liked the photo/shadow boxes. My hydrangeas are now reddish in color. I noticed a big bush of them another town, the same color. So pretty. Colors are a changing here for sure. Take care!Grandmabeckyl.blogspothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04362600588981799211noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8865022255438031627.post-11192186789154467932013-11-11T16:59:54.137-08:002013-11-11T16:59:54.137-08:00Thanks for sharing such a lovely post today Teresa...Thanks for sharing such a lovely post today Teresa, in honor of your husband and father.
