Hello! Thanks for stopping by. I've been working on the lacy edging of my summer shawl.. there are 15 rows in the lace and I'm almost done with row 8 of it. I did a shopping expedition in my craft studio yarn stash and found a few more colors to add.
This shawl will be fun to wear, I think of it as a Boho, hippie look. Just up my alley. LOL! I use shawls in the summer when we go out to dinner or lunch as many restaurants are so cold with their AC blasting. Also when I go swimming I use it to wear after the swim when I'm chilled.
I've learned at least one new stitch in this pattern, the puff stitch. I'd never done it before and it was interesting to master it. I'll be working on this more today - this is one of those wonderful weeks for me with no appointments or meetings. Summer joy. I am not swimming now as the pool I use at LA Fitness is being completely remodeled and the whole gym is closed for weeks.
A friend of ours that is going to work on our deck for us stopped by and he brought his new puppy for us to meet. It's a Yellow Labrador and it's name is Marley. :-) Kristi cut the boys hair for them.. Caleb wanted a Mohawk so this is what a curly haired Mohawk looks like. Cute!
Wiggle wiggle.. cuddle.. wiggle.. lemme down..
This will be a different summer for us. Dayle has been dealing with bad sciatic nerve pain in his back so he said we won't be able to go to our annual camping trip to Waldo Lake in August. He's been to the doctor and is going to physical therapy to see if that can help. So, we've decided to get some needed home maintenance taken care of. We're going to get the house painted, a new deck and 7 new windows installed in the dining room, living room and den. There are old wood windows in there now and they don't open, are single pane and leak a lot of frigid air into the house in the winter.
Do you have any home maintenance things that you plan to do this summer? I hope you're having a good week! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
