We had to miss our granddaughter's birthday when we came home from our camping trip with a cold. So, when we were better, we asked if we could take the girls out for a birthday lunch. Here we are at Claim Jumper restaurant yesterday. As anyone will know that has tried to photograph children, it's almost impossible to get them both looking at the camera and not a blur. :-) Jenna and Paige hamming it up with Grandpa!
We'd called 10 stores looking for just the right "LaLaLoopsy" doll for Paige and it was not to be found, so I ordered it on Amazon. So, since it won't come for a while longer, we took the girls to Toys R Us to find a "sofa" for the doll. Here is Paige with her free "crown".And here she is with the birthday balloon, crown and her good big sister in the store.
I tried so many times to get a photo of Paige with her doll and sofa, fuzz is the best I could get, but the doll was sitting still, anyway! LOL
Then we felt bad that she got the sofa and no doll yet, so we got a set of "twins" - one for each granddaughter. So, when her other doll comes, she'll have 2. We also got each of them this cute little tin lunch pail type purse with a beaded handle and a new outfit for each girl and some "pencil toppers". Yes, we spoiled them. It's what grandparents get to do.
Jenna had one already, so here are the 3 of the dolls and Paige.
I do think Paige wishes she could try that doll shoe on her own foot. :-)
We had a great time with the girls. They'll be flying to their new home in Ohio in a few weeks. I want to spend as much time with them before they go as I can. Today I will be crocheting 2 sweaters for 2 Teddy Bears for the girls' favorite bears. Hopefully they'll remember my love for them when they see my crocheted things. I envision lots of little girl projects in the future, to send to my girls 2,000 miles away. :-\
Hugs, Teresa
Teresa, what a delightful time you had with your girls. I feel so sad for you, I was so depressed when I moved to Vermont and mine are in Massachusetts. I feel your pain. But you will just have to visit lots and maybe the girls can spend some summer weeks (month) with you each year!! And don't worry they will love and remember you, how could they not!! xoRobin❤
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa, what a great time you had with your granddaughters. I do feel for you with them moving so far away but I can see lots of wonderful holidays with grandma and grandpa to look forward to. ((hugs)) Joanna xx
ReplyDeleteYou are the best grammy in the world. Lunch out, Toy'sR'Us and playtime on the couch. I can't think of a better way to have spent the day. Enjoy each moment you can, while you can.
ReplyDeleteThey are such sweet and pretty little girls! You ARE going to miss them. Whatever will you do? I'm just getting caught up on blog reading. Found the Yakisoba Chicken recipe you posted a couple of days back. Thanks so much. Can't wait to try it.
ReplyDeleteI never get tired of looking at your pretty flower pictures either!
What delightful little children. Paige is a doll and your husband looks pretty good too :) I'm glad you're having good times with the girls while they still live close to you.
ReplyDeleteAww what a fabulous day you all had xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful day! Grandparents are the best! I'm 32 and my grandma still spoils me (grin) :-) xxxx
ReplyDeleteYou do know that it is an unwritten law the grandparents are REQUIRED to spoil their grandchildren, right? What a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteThey are such sweet little girls. How sad for you they are moving so far away :-( I'm sure you will miss them very much. I think it's impossible that they will forget how much you love them, Grandmas are special!
ReplyDeleteWhat a special treat they had Teresa. Of course they will remember their dear grandma and grandpa and there will be plenty of skyping going on I should think. At least they had some great years with you before their move. Thinking of you,
ReplyDeleteJane x
Hi Teresa!
ReplyDeleteMissed you last week at Multnomah Falls. We were there Friday and I stopped in the visitor center and saw your picture on the wall! Such a famous person! It was a beautiful trip as usual. Check out the pictures on my blog of the view from the Vista House and Multnomah Falls. I know you see them both often, but maybe it would be interesting to see it from someone else's perspective.
Love, love your blog. I don't comment often, but read it all the time.
Blessings,
Betsy
