So Much to See!

Not much time to say hello while in Washington DC! Monday was a travel day to get here with a five hour flight. Tuesday we visited the Smithsonian museum of American History in the morning after coming into town on the Metro train. Then we had a tour of the Capitol Building. On Wednesday the Museum of Natural History in the morning and then got to visit INSIDE the WHITE HOUSE!! Then after that we visited the Daughters of the American Revolution building. Today was the Library of Congress in the morning and the National Museum of the American Indian.

I'm typing on my iPad so this will be it for now, a more detailed post to come.

I hope you are doing well. Miss you!! Hugs, Teresa

  1. What amazing detail in the buildings--wow! My DH lived in that area for about 2 years or so; he has seen so much of this -- but I have only seen it through faded photos of his. How wonderful to be able to visit the DAR building:)
Love the photo of you two; looks like you are experiencing a bit of PNW weather.
    Blessings,
    Aimee

  2. We lived in the DC area for many years! We visited so many things and yet I don't think we saw it all! I will say that my favorites are Mt. Vernon, The National Cathedral, and The Museum of American History. I will also say that I hope you visit Arlington. Such history!

  3. D.C. is an amazing place. So much history. My favorite thing in the library of Congress was Thomas Jefferson's books. I looked them over with my mouth open to my knees thinking...these are actually Thomas Jefferson's books!!! We actually read these books!!! I agree with Michelle that Arlington National Cemetary is a special place, sacred really, so many heroes buried there. Thanks for sharing your trip.

  8. The capital with the dark clouds behind it is somewhat of a statement as to the shape of our country right now. Great pics as usual! I've always wanted to do the White House tour.
