I am having a hard time dealing with the tragedy here in Oregon at the shopping mall, and then before we could even begin to absorb that, the loss of 20 little children and 6 adults at a school in Connecticut. I am hurting for all the families and those that were there at both places. I think that if we all stop and close our eyes for a minute and send our thoughts and prayers to those who are no longer with us and those that are left to mourn them --- somehow it just might help. Please join me in doing so.
I lit a little candle and put it in my nativity - a light for those lost.
And to bring healing and peace to us all, an image from Thursday.. while volunteering at Multnomah Falls.
Lights from the Christmas Ships Parade that we saw last night. We thought of the children while we watched. Thank you for visiting me today and helping me to send healing thoughts to those who need them. Hug your loved ones extra long and hard today. Tell them you love them. Sending my love to you and yours. Teresa
Dear Teresa I have been in tears listening to the news about this awful tragedy. My heart goes out to everyone touched by this and I will have them and those who have lost their lives in my thoughts and prayers. It certainly makes you reflect on what is important in your life. Hugs Anne x
ReplyDeleteLindos seus posts de Natal.
ReplyDeleteParabéns.
Esta época é realmente mágica.
Saudades.
Beijo.
Teresa, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and our nation and society that has allowed horrible acts like this. The more we push God out of our society the more desperately we need Him. Will continue praying and holding friends and loved ones close in my heart. Thank you for this heartfelt post.
ReplyDeleteSuch a tragedy. My thoughts are with all concerned. Xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteSuch senseless acts of violence. I think back to when my girls were little, in kindergarten and so full of life and excitement. Like a candle snuffed out forever all those lives gone and for what, so some person can go down in the books as the worst killer in our history. And it is scary to think that it could have been any one of us, our children or loved ones. And why these people always think they need to take others with them when they have a death wish for their self is way beyond me. That is something I have never been able to wrap my mind around and grasp.

Mrs. Teresa, I am struggling with all the violence as well. Sadly, these acts of violence could happen anywhere. Hubby and I have even been talking about home schooling our children. I really cannot imagine what those families are going through.
ReplyDeleteSending many hugs your way,
Erin
Connecticut is a small community - being a small state. I'm a guidance counselor in CT, about 40 minutes away from Newtown. All of us here are already starting to heal thanks to the amazing community we have here in our small state. All the prayers from the world are also helping. It's senseless, but with God's help we'll all heal and remember the victims.
ReplyDeleteI am praying for all the victims and their families and absolutely refusing to watch or listen to, or read the news. I just can't take it in.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so lovely, and they make me so homesick for Oregon, my home state!
I have lit a candle for all the victims, those children, those families. So senseless. Hugs, Gerda
ReplyDeleteThank you for bringing Light into darkness, Teresa. Even when it seems that terror is strong, I choose Light and insist Love is stronger than hate, and life is precious and to be treasured. xx from Gracie
ReplyDeleteI know Teresa...it is just such an unthinkable thing that happened! Feeling helpless, and so, so sad.

Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayer and I send my prayers and respect as well. May we all take a moment to remember all those that lost their lives and the families who stayed behind. May God give them peace and comfort.
ReplyDeleteSending healing thoughts to your country Teresa.....what a tragic waste of life x
ReplyDeleteIt is so terribly sad and I have been in tears everytime I see photos of the victims. Such senseless, pointless violence. Tragic.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...I love the candle you lit. xoxo
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has experienced such horrific and inexplainable loss. I can think of nothing else.

Thank you for taking time to remember them. I'm sure they must know that all the world is grieving for them and their loss. It is such a horrific tragedy. Yesterday I was in my watercolor paint class and one of our painters sang Silent Night for us, and it was all I could do to keep it together. I don't think there's a one of us out there that even though we might be celebrating in the coming weeks, that we won't think of these families and their losses from all over the country this year.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely post Teresa, I am sad beyond words.

Hi Teresa, I also am broken hearted by the senseless tragedy in Conn. I can't even imagine the pain the families are going through. All I can say is to pray, pray, pray for the families. Pray for healing, strength and love.
