Roses

My beloved husband and I both love flowers. After my Valentine bouquet withered, we decided to get some new flowers.  I had in mind a bunch of daffodils or tulips, I really wanted tulips....
And.. last flower season I kept wishing I had a bigger vase for big bouquets.. and so I looked on Amazon and found this one for a very reasonable price.. it arrived on Saturday so on Sunday we went out for lunch, did some grocery shopping and looked at the flowers available in the grocery store florist.. they had no daffodils or tulips, but they did have these ivory roses with just a touch of blush pink and they jumped into my arms.  :-)
Yesterday was sunny, so I snapped some photos of the dining room bathed in sunlight.  Can you spot the dog?
It's actually hard to get a pretty photo of the flowers with the sun behind them.
But the sun was lovely, warm and bright!
From above?
Is there anything more inviting than gazing down into the center of a rose?  It's like it sucks you in.  Each day they open slightly more....
Pretty pretty flowers.
Today I thought I might be able to get a better shot with a cloudy day...
I went near the window to photograph the flowers with the light on them.
 Love.
Are you tired of looking at them yet? :-)
OK, I'll stop.  haha!
So, how was your weekend?  Do you have any fun plans for the week?  I do.  :-)  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

    1. Thank you for such a nice comment! I actually bought the tablecloth from a friend of mine in her 90s - I think she made it, but it's gorgeous! I have 3 from her, they are treasures. All hand crocheted from tiny cotton thread

    1. Betsy, can you believe these roses were only $12.99 for the dozen? Have you looked in the grocery store florist for flowers? Also, Costco has wonderful bouquets for reasonable prices. See you soon!

  5. Beautiful table setting Teresa. There's nothing like roses to add an elegance. Did you make your tablecloth? I love it and have been looking for a simple tablecloth to crochet for my dining table. I can't beleive all the plants you have...your cat must not bother them. I've been wanting house plants again but my two cats will dig in them and chew on the leaves...grrrr.
Thanks for sharing your lovely pics with us. :o)

  7. Beautiful roses! I love roses. I have red ones in my yard, I have no idea what variety, but I bring them in the house as much as possible when they're in bloom. I absolutely love your dining room, it's so light and open! The yellow walls are beautiful too. That's a great color for decorating.

Your new flowers are incredible...I LOVE both ivory and pink! In fact, I love ivory SO much that I have been adding more items in that color to my house for awhile now.

  12. Nope, I did not tire of looking at your roses. In fact, I went back and looked again, and plan to look again after I finish typing to you :) One of the things I especially appreciate about good photography like yours is that you help a viewer to truly see a subject and therefore better appreciate it. Buddy is so smart to have found a beautiful sunny warm spot in which to rest his adorable self! Thanks for posting, Teresa. See you soon!
