Hello! Thanks for stopping by! I thought it would be fun to show you the "before" photo of our decorating today. The boys and Kristi helped me decorate the tree. I unwrapped and gave the boys the "unbreakable" things and Kristi hung all the glass, porcelain and delicate things up higher. It turned out nice, I'll show you the "after" tomorrow when we're done.
The mantel tree on the left turned on and the one on the right won't.. dang.. we'll see if our handy dandy son can make it work.
Dayle hung the garland up the stairs.. lots of Santas and sleighs need to be placed here and there.
Guess what? It might snow this evening or tomorrow.. it won't be a big one, but the flakes falling down would really amp up my holiday spirit.. which is actually in high gear! OK, this was a quickie and I need to go see what else needs to be done.

Beautiful decorations. I can't decide when to get our tree yet. Too soon and the needles will be everywhere and too late and we can't enjoy it for long. I did get my stand out today so it may be this week sometime. My baubles are all waiting in the snug room.
ReplyDeleteIt is really feeling like Christmas have arrived.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house, Teresa! I'll keep my fingers crossed for snow in your neck of the woods, I know exactly how you feel about it. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is always better when there are small children around to enjoy Christmas. I miss that!
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing tomorrow's post of the 'finished' pics. Its starting to feel like Christmas here too - my DD did our decorations yesterday. We're having Christmas dinner on 21st as DD and her husband are going away while his work is closed down for 2 weeks.
ReplyDeleteOur tree went up on sat. We are about done now. Well, unless we find something else.
ReplyDeleteYou tree looks wonderful;! Doesn't it always seem like there has to be one small problem. Hopefull the little tree will be easy to fix. Your house is gorgeous! I can't wait to see the results!
That is so exciting Tetesa and how fun that you have helpers this year :) I'm not decorating much as we don't have very much space or much of our Christmas decorations. We did yesterday decorate a little with whatever we brought with us ( which is not much but gives a little of the Christmas spirit in the air. Can't wait to see the final product :) hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving :)
ReplyDeleteIt's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Very nice.
ReplyDeleteEven with my raincoat on I got drenched to the skin today when I went with a friend to our church tree lot for her to get her tree. She found a beauty and it smelled heavenly, but we put up our artificial tree yesterday...pictures in a post to come. We are hoping for some valley snow, too, but so far the front pond is just getting fuller with all the rain :) I love seeing your decorations! Pretty :)

Hi Teresa! As usual, you are one of those blogger-friends who always bring in so much of holiday mood! Loved you snaps, and I can't wait to see your house in full decor! Have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteI have just finished enjoying your Thanksgiving and now I get even more sugar candy with your Christmas preparations . You have helped me. Get into the swing of things so much. So thank you x x x

Looks like you have a good start to decorating for the holiday, with plenty of helper bees to lend a hand, things could get done quickly. I am anxious to see how your tree will turn out. I don't know about you, but even using the same ole ornaments never seemed to make much of a difference, the tree always looked beautiful again and again no matter what. I am sure you have a lot of ornaments, as I do, that have sentimental meaning, many were gifts and treasures from the children when they were small. I still have these funny little things the kids made in kindergarten and grade school. I don't know what it is, but a farm house decorated for Christmas is the best, the hominess and warmth of family nestled in where it is warm and cozy, blessings all around.

Oh my you sure had the rain yesterday didn't you? Brad & Mandy drove home through it and said it was terrible from The Dalles onward. It looks like snowflakes flying today from the weather reports. Can't wait to see your post with snow pictures and all of your beautiful decorations. And...I get to see them in person this year. Hurray!! I'm just putting little odds and end out, no tree since we won't be home for most of the holiday.
ReplyDeleteBlessings always Teresa,
Betsy
Looking lovely Teresa. I am trying to get into the spirit of it all. A few decorations went out yesterday. Hugs Anne x
ReplyDeleteYou're off to a great start Teresa (+ helpers)! I have only one tree up, but it doesn't count since it's up year round.
ReplyDeleteI saw an extended forecast that has quite a few days of snow coming our way:) I LOVE snow!
Blessings,
Aimee
