Jingle Bells

Gift wrapping, husband style.  :-)

Dinner at Tad's Chicken 'n Dumplins by the fire.

I put up some little wreathes on my china cabinet.  o<[]:{D

I just love little decorative touches here and there during the season.

I read many bloggers that live in England.  One very talented, kind and sweet lady who's name is Jane does the blog called Jane's Journal.  She is a busy lady that works full-time, makes fantastic jewelry, is a card-maker extraordinaire, and a mother of two wonderful children, one of which just presented her with an early Christmas gift.. the adorable Daisy Jane.  She recently did a blog post on making her own "crackers".  Well, I know of them but had never seen how they are made, nor have ever had one of my own.  I asked her several questions about them and even with as busy as she is she took the time to email me and answer all my questions.  SO.. she's a doll and I thought.. hmmm.. I think I will get some crackers at World Market and start a proper English tradition at our Christmas dinner.  Below are the ones I found.  I am also going to have them on the table for our blog girls Christmas luncheon tomorrow.  Photos to follow.  o<[]:{D

Yesterday Dayle and I made a mad dash to Costco.. oh my gosh.. what a zoo!  But we needed to get our special ham and a big salmon filet for tomorrow.  The parking lot was full and the inside of the store was downright frighteningly full of people.  But we managed to negotiate our way around and found everything we wanted and things we didn't know we wanted.  :-)  Before we left the house I added this wrist band of jingle bells to my purse and I jingled and jangled all afternoon.  That was fun!  You could see little heads turn and look around as I went by.  o<[]:{D

We got the guys some hats the other day... they both LOVE playing Angry Birds on my iPad.  Aren't they cute?

Kristi has made fudge, cookies and now caramel apples.  She made 8 of them for Travis to take to work and share with his new co-workers at Nabisco.  She made one for each of us too.. they're in the fridge.

Wrapped up to go.

My daughter sent me this photo of her family at a Christmas party at school.  She's been the room mother for Paige's class and worked very hard to put on a fun party for the kids and a big gift basket to auction off.  Jenna takes after her father, Jay, and is getting very tall at 4' 9" tall!

Well, I just wanted to pop in and say hello, but I have to get busy getting the table ready for my blog girls luncheon tomorrow.  Tidying to do.  You know how it is!  o<[]:{D

  2. I remember the crackers when we were England, while serving in the Air Force. Fun. World Market is fun.My fav store, they have so much stuff! If someone gave me a gift card for that store, I'd be overwhelmed with joy, but it's a dream and some day maybe it will come true. Loved the bells on your purse! Have a good lunch tomorrow! Hugs and Merry Christmas!

  3. Hi Teresa. We had crackers tonight when Jonathan and family came for a Christmas Sunday Celebration. The girls were so excited re the crackers and the crafting we did beforehand. There will be more crackers on Christmas Day. The jokes will give Grandpa some new material :-) he is renowned for his jokes. Everyone groans but I think they look forward to the as well. It's really sweet when the children laugh ad say oh I get that one. :-) Have fun with the girls!!!! Hugs Anne x

  4. It looks so festive at your house. You are all ready for Christmas! We went to Costco yesterday too and also bought a ham and a salmon filet! Shopping twins! :) Did they have the cheese samples at your store too? They had a cheddar with truffles which was really good. Jenna is very tall, especially since I think she's only a year or so older than my son and he's about 4'4" right now, and is average height! I hope you have a great time with the girls at your luncheon.

I ventured out to the grocery store a little while ago and it was SO busy I can't even begin to imagine Costco. Our Grandkids would love those hats! I'll have to find out where you found them
    See you tomorrow.

  18. I totally try very hard to avoid the last minute crowds around the holidays and I have to give you a pat on the back for your daring efforts to brave the madness. It can be a zoo, so crazy. I use to avoid the day after too, when everyone is grabbing up all those wonderful discounted items that are bargains. I am finding that the older I get, the less tolerant I am of the large crowds. Give me a quiet peaceful day out. What fun you are planning for your blogger friends. I wish I lived close by.
