Gorge-ous Day

Hello my friends!  Thanks for stopping in.  I volunteered at Multnomah Falls yesterday with my sister Denise.  It was a gorgeous day and we had a nice busy day with plenty of visitors.  I actually snapped this photo before I got in my car to head home.  It's not the best shot of the falls but you can see how everything is greening up.

See all the new green leaves coming out?  Yay!  I'm not a fan of the black naked trees of winter.

My little place where I'm almost onto the freeway to head home.. where the sun sparkles off the river on pretty days.  :-)

I pulled into the farm and asked Dayle and the boys if they'd like to ride with me up to Portland Women's Forum Scenic Viewpoint to see the view on this fine day so they hopped in my Explorer and off we went heading East for the approx. 5 mile drive to the point.  I wheeled over in front of Corbett School to get a shot of the view of Mt. Hood we have from Corbett.  :-)

A beautiful warm day.. a nice long shot of Vista House and the Columbia River Gorge with the new Spring green of the new leaves.

Closer.  See Beacon Rock?  And Bonneville Dam?  The land on the left of the river is Washington State, on the right.. Oregon.

Zoooooming in with my little Lumix camera.  You can even see the people sitting on the steps enjoying the warmth and the view!

Backing out a bit.. I like this shot.

Oh lookie.. the moon is out.

They have made some headway on repairing the burned roof of the Viewpoint Inn.. but it's far from being weather tight.. the roof is just boards, no shingles, so the rain continues to pour in.  Dreadful owners are not taking care of this poor historic inn.  :-(

The boys ran and ran up and down the sidewalk here and had a blast!  I asked them to hop up on the wall so grandma could get a photo.  My boys.

Zooming down for a shot of Rooster Rock.

I thought you might like to see a shot of the barges pushed by tugboats that ply the river taking goods back and forth.  They bring huge loads of wheat down the river to Portland from the wheat farms in the eastern side of Oregon.

I'm heading off soon to meet Gracie for our swimming workout at LA Fitness.  It's another GORGE-OUS DAY!  Have a wonderful Easter weekend!  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  20. Well, Teresa, I am here again and so far behind in reading your posts so I will comment a bit and take some steps back to the previous ones. You have such beautiful sights in your state, many are breath-taking, especially Mt. Hood, the falls and river scenes. I am sure you know how some things we just never get tired of looking at, like the ocean, or the beautiful sun rises and sunsets. I remember the first time I went to the Blue Ridge Mountains, every curve in the road I wanted to stop and snap a picture. I believe God knew what He was doing when He created these things. Your grandsons are growing up. I bet they are lots of fun and full of energy. Thank you for sharing with all of us
