Hello! How are things going with you? Things are going well here in the old farmhouse in the Oregon countryside. Since my DIL organized my craft studio while we were away on a driving trip for three and a half weeks last summer.. I am able to once again use the space. What a joy! The desk in there is large with a spacious desktop where I did some gift wrapping. Legos and cars for our grandsons.. they're too young to read my blog so my secrets are safe. :-)
We don't have a lot under the tree.. but we have never been ones to overdo the shopping thing. All things in moderation. When the kids were growing up they got one special thing from Santa and a few more things.
I'm having a Christmas luncheon for my two sisters and friend Shirley on Wednesday.. I'm still getting decorations out of the red trunk you see on the sofa. Almost done.. o<[]:{D We have not found the cranberry beads for over the windows and fireplace.. we might go without those this year. :-)
I did put out some of my favorite things across the TV cabinet, I just love this little porcelain candle holder.. a baby polar bear, reindeer and bunny are roasting marshmallows over the tea light "fire" next to a tree with candles and two red birds with a nest of eggs. :-)
Last year I acquired a small collection of three porcelain domed lanterns.. I quite simply am amazed at the detail in the fine thin porcelain when lit from within by a tea candle.
This one has Santa being pulled by a reindeer.
This one has fun things on all sides of it.. a man skiing down a mountain and a log cabin...
A boy and girl who had just made two snowmen...
The snowman and boy. :-)
The third one is hummingbirds that I leave out all year.
I had a couple photos that I was going to post but I think I need to wait a few days.. it's all about Christmas magic and fun and surprises.. more on that when the time is right. Below is a snap of the colorful twinkly lights on my table and a cute little frosted glass reindeer candle holder I found some years back. I thought it was fun how he was lit from behind by the lights.. and the candle is one I made myself.. more on that later, too. :-)
I have to run now.. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead of you! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
It all looks so festive at your house, Teresa! You have such pretty Christmas decorations. We also believe in a fairly lean Christmas, but the gifts still need to be wrapped and they won't wrap themselves. I need to get on it soon. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are certainly making your home beautiful for the season and full of lovely memories. The domes are a real delight, so pretty. Wishing you a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThe glow of a candle is all I need for Christmas. The way they dance and reflect the things around them is so peaceful and serene.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that Christmas is almost here and all your lovely decorations will be coming down before they're all up.
Hoping you and yours will have a wonderful white Christmas.
You must love having your crafting space back. Your decorations look beautiful x
ReplyDeleteSuch a warm and festive atmosphere throughout this post....your decorations are so pretty and your home looks so cosy and happy :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!

I love the light you have captured in your photos, Teresa! Today I have been sweeping and sorting and folding and reading and thinking and typing to you: enjoying another busy day :) Thanks for posting. xx
ReplyDeleteWow Teresa, your tree is gorgeous, and the whole room looks so deliciously cosy, like a magazine shoot for Christmas! You have a magic touch I think. I love the lanterns, they're really unusual. The porcelain must be really delicate. No footballs near there! I have to stick with fairly robust stuff around here. My boys love Lego too, it's hours of entertainment isn't it. I hope you have a good week and a lovely lunch on Wednesday. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteSo beautifully cosy and festive Teresa. I love all your decorations and I hope you have a wonderful week too.

Teresa, your home is always so warm and welcoming. I could just come in and sit down by your tree and enjoy the fire...wait, I have done just that in the past! I wish I could be there this year too. Your domed lights are just beautiful. Thank you again for the surprise in my mailbox! You and Gracie are just the best!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteHello Teresa.I am just back from visiting my mum for a couple of days. Helping her get sorted for Christmas. You look very festive. I hope to get finished now I'm home again. Hugs Anne x
ReplyDeleteSo happy you also enjoy this season. It's very special.
ReplyDeleteOh, truly Christmas. So beautiful, wonderful tree, decorations, the presents wrapped waiting, the fabulous header picture of I'm guessing being your home lit up with lights. Beautifully colourful and happy. I have never experienced a white Christmas but it sure is pretty high on my bucket list:-)
ReplyDeleteI love love love seeing your home
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun to put out all your favorite decorations!? I love seeing everyone's cherished treasures this time of year. Thanks for sharing! Stacy
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa, Your decorations are so beautiful! I know what you mean about being able to use your office. I did a major clean out of mine. It is wonderful to use but I have to really watch myself that I don't let things pile up again. It's a constant battle for me :-) Lisa
ReplyDeleteSo so cosy and warm in your home Teresa! Love all the quiet light from the domed lanterns, they are lovely! Lots of fun in your home. xoRobin
ReplyDeleteThose lanterns are just lovely! Like works of art!
ReplyDeleteWow Teresa .. Those porcelain lanterns are absolutely beautiful and I love the little mice in their tiny bed. All your decorations look wonderful. I got the most fantastic surprise in today's mail .... A gorgeous Christmas card from you !! THANK YOU sooooo much - I love it and can't stop looking at it. Even the envelope looks so festive with the beautiful handwriting and holly in the corner. Xox
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing your Christmas decorations every year (especially the Jim Shore Santa Sleigh on your dining room table!). Did you get him out yet? Must be fun seeing the Christmas excitement build in those boys. We woke up to a little snow this morning...not much, but enough to make everything white. I hope we have a white Christmas this year!
ReplyDeleteSuch a warm glow. So lovely and festive. Beautiful lithophanes. I like your red trunk -- I think I'd leave that out as part of the decorations!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Teresa, my house is not that festive! I have toned way back this year, well with decorating anyways. I always go way overboard with the presents, I can't help myself. Nothing all that exciting for anyone, just stuff.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great week,
Meredith
