One of my wonderful blog readers, Jane from Illinois, contacted me and asked if I could use more hats for the "Operation Diaper Bag", and asked if booties would be of use also. I said that would be great! So, a package arrived on Friday and it held these absolutely WONDERFUL soft cotton knitted hats and booties! These will be so welcome for the new babies being born to US Military families! Thank you, Jane!!
A close-up of one of the hats.. they are so soft and sweet.
Here is a pair of the booties.. just really cute and soft.
I realized that when I showed you my neat little Mason jar penny bank that the photo did not show the size relation to the bigger jars. So, here is a 2 quart jar, a pint jar and my little bank... and even smaller are the vintage Salt & Pepper jars I have.
The 3 little ones.. I just adore them.
I shined up my Navy WWII serving spoon and took a photo of the anchor on it.
I have 2 little demitasse spoons and 3 tiny demitasse cups and saucers. I collected a whole set of dishes over time and 2 wonderful serving bowls.
I laid the big serving spoon in front of the demitasse to show you how tiny they are.
Dayle brought in TWO eggs yesterday, a brown one and an aqua one, so both of our two hens are laying. YAY! So, I found this small egg collecting basket on Amazon. It just came while I was taking photos of the cups.
The kids sent this photo of them on a ride at Disneyland yesterday. Kristi looks like she might be having more fun than anyone. LOL!
Have you been to Disneyland? We took the kids one time only, our son Travis, in the photo, is our youngest and he was only 4 when we went. They are enjoying it there although say it's very crowded. Have a wonderful week! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Janes sweet hats and booties are just beautiful and I know they'll be appreciated. That was so nice of her. Love seeing your little jar in relation to the others. It gives a better point of reference. We have only been to Disneyland once. Alex was about 5 so it was 22 years ago or so. He's been to Tokyo Disneyland several times too. I'm in no hurry to go back except I would love to go to the Harry Potter things in Orlando. Have a lovely afternoon.

Teresa, so many interesting items in your post today! Love the hats and booties and those jars are to die for. Love the tiny jars and the penny one! Anchors are so popular these days. Great collections!
ReplyDeleteTake care, xoRobin
I love those hats and booties. So cute! I have several old Mason Jars. My mother -in-law would always bring me ones she would find out yardsailing.
ReplyDeleteDisneyland has a special place in my heart because I got engaged there, and have been there other times with various family members over the years, and when we lived in upstate NY we took all our kids to Disney World in Florida...good memories! I hope Travis's family comes home with lots of good memories, too. You know that this Saylor is fond of nautical things, and I enjoy seeing your collection of anchor dishes and spoons, and the interesting canning jars as well. I am sure Jane's beautiful work will be appreciated by the military families that receive them. I hope you have a great week, too. I have been packing for my flight on Wednesday to Burbank again, and gathering papers to file my tax return, and I miss you, too! 🤗
ReplyDeleteThe hats and booties are cute and i'm sure they will be well received. Never been to Disneyland but I've been to Universal Studios some years ago as an adult. That was fun! I've seen spoons and your demitasse cups in a museum somewhere on the south coast of Oregon. Lifeboat station, I believe. Quite interesting. My dau-in-law keeps showing eggs their hens lay (6). Some are various color.s Can't wait to get some. The yarn I used is more of a mulberry color for the dishcloth, not hot pink. It was so pretty! We got snow this a.m. but all gone now. It's quite cold out again but to warm up next few days! Take care!
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa! I just found your blog. I'm also a Jane from Illinois! Isn't that odd! I'm loving all of your homemade booties and hats. I have two granddaughter (as well a a brand new grandson) and the girls wear little knitted caps all the time...that's just the way it is in the Midwest!
ReplyDeleteAnchor dishes! I need to get my hands on those. Our little lakehouse is getting spruced up this spring with some nautical pieces here and there.
Looking forward to reading your future posts!
