My dear husband made a special trip to get a dozen red roses for me for Valentines Day! Or week, should I say? :-)π π
I firmly believe that you might as well decorate ahead of holidays and be able to enjoy it for longer.
The flowers arrived in tight buds but are opening slowly, so pretty. He also got a bouquet of baby's breath. It was fun to arrange the flowers in my vase.
Is there anything so pretty as an opening red rose?
In the evening I lit the candles and put my heart lights across the table so it's pretty after dark too.
My heart shaped philodendron is thriving. I got it from my daughter when she moved to Ohio 9 years ago, it was in a little plastic pot and was not doing well.
I also took this Bird-of-Paradise plant off her hands and it was not thriving in the family room where it didn't get enough light. Last summer I asked Dayle to move it outside where it got lots of light and plenty of water and look! It's coming back! Now it's by the window in the dining room and is happily growing. :-)
Do you have Valentine's Day plans? We will have our grandsons for 2 nights so we're taking them out to dinner with us. A special place. I'll share that with you soon.

Hi Teresa, your roses are beautiful and I love how everything looks. I cannot believe it has been nine years since your daughter moved! How fast that time has flown. Do you have any plans to see them all in the near future. Such a way to travel I know. Hugs Anne x
ReplyDeleteSuch a festive tablescape! The roses are simply beautiful and all the glowing red light at night is lovely. You do have a flair! And a sweet husband who keeps you in flowers! Have a great weekend with your grandsons!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely flowers! My husband brought me flowers today too. I usually put my Valentine decorations out the end of Jan or first week in Feb but this year they are still not out. I'm wondering if there is any point to it now.
ReplyDeleteThose roses are beautiful Teresa. No special plans for us...just being together is goodπ
ReplyDeleteWell done you two! Thanks for sharing the lovely views of the gorgeous roses and thriving plants πΏππΉπΏ I hope you have a good visit with the boys. While I don't have any special plans for Valentine's Day, I'm looking forward to attending a wedding on Saturdayππ€
ReplyDeleteGorgeous roses Teresa. Dayle knows how to buy pretty flowers. :-) . Your plants are doing so well too. I have a philodendron that I've had for over 24 years now. I just keep pinching it backa and it keeps growing.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have any plans for Valentine's Day. We'll just spend the evening at home. Have fun with your boys!
Blessings,
Betsy
Beautiful roses. What a romantic your husband is! I love your table decoration. John and I have been married 22 years, but we don't do romantic stuff. We love each other and say so every day. Best, Jane x
ReplyDeleteWe don't mark Valentine's Day but I have added bunches of daffodils to my shopping list to bring a bit of cheer into the house. I do love roses, they are such elegant flowers, aren't they? Yours look very pretty alongside the baby's breath and surrounded by warming lights. Happy Valentine's Day to you and Dayle xx
ReplyDeleteHow lovely your beautiful home looks, all decorated for Valentine's Day!!!! You "put to shame" my bits of decoration. -smile- Although I do have the mantle, with left-over red Christmas decor. And our little Christmas tree, still has it red balls on it, and a valentine on top. -gigggles-
ReplyDeleteBut yours is certainly beeeeeeautiful...
