New Barn Cat and Purple Yarn

Dayle has spotted a new inhabitant of the barn.  A handsome orange and white tabby - I'll call her/him Ginger.  We've seen evidence of cat prints on my car as he uses it to jump into the window into the garage.  He's welcome here as we have a rodent problem due to the chicken feeder attracting them.

I went out yesterday to see the ophthalmologist and took these photos when arriving back home.  This is a wide angle shot.  I was somewhat nervous about going into the medical office.  I wore a N95 mask and all staff and other patients were all wearing masks.  Chairs in the waiting room were all 6 feet apart.  The bad part is the steam from my breath coming out of the top of the mask kept steaming up the lens on their equipment!  It was a pain for me and the technician.

This photo I'm standing in the same place but used the #1 setting.

A slight turn to the left.  Love my pink azalea!

Dayle picked these roses for me when he arrived home from a doctor's visit plus picking up a grocery order I put in for us online.  They brought it to the car and loaded it for him.  All he had to do was press a button to open the back hatch door.  He picked them because it's raining and he knew the flowers would be battered if left on the bush.

My purple yarn arrived!  Now I have to roll up a ball of it and start my shawl.  Today is the day!

And here it all is in all it's glory.  This is going to be my all-time favorite shawl, I can tell already.  This old hippie chick will not be lost in a crowd when wearing it.  LOL!

This is the pattern I'll be using, it's called the Sunday Shawl, designed by Alia Brand, New Zealand, the pattern can be found on Etsy HERE.

The lace edging is a design extravaganza!

That's it for me today.  How is your week going?  Stay safe!
((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  2. Love seeing that you have a resident cat. We now have two and our mice problem is gone. The oldest cat even brought us a squirrel! Yuk! We are getting rid of our big wood stove and looking at a pellet stove for that room. I told my husband how much you loved yours.

  3. Hi Teresa! I love the photos of your farm. The gardens are growing so well and look very healthy. It's pouring down rain here and has been for a couple of days. Everything is a vibrant green. I love it. I had to run to the lake and pick up a part to the hitch for Dennis today. It was raining so hard! I sat in the trailer and knitted and ate a sandwich while I was there. The rain on the roof of a trailer is music to my ears.
I need to get my eyes examined as it's been a couple of years but I'm afraid to go to the doctor. I have to go to the dermatologist next month for my melanoma check and I'm stressing about that. No masks AND no clothes!!!!!!
Have a great day and tell Dayle hi for Dennis and me.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  4. Pretty kitty and farm and yarn...and it will be lovely to see your shawl grow. I get foggy glasses if I don't put my cloth face mask on just right, so I can imagine the problem you had at the ophthalmologist. Thanks for your beautiful post, Teresa. I enjoyed reading it.

  9. Beautiful roses, and how cosy your room looks with the fire lit. Perfect for a little crochet, I love those colours too, gorgeous. Your garden is looking very pretty, I love how tall all the trees are, they really make it very dramatic. I'm glad you were able to visit the ophthalmologist safely, and the grocery pick-up sounds very well organised too. The days are flying by here in a way, but also are dragging a bit for the children at times I think. It's difficult for me to work and entertain them and do the house and garden stuff. But I'm not complaining, I know we are very lucky. I hope you have a good weekend. CJ xx

  10. We had a fire in the woodstove last night. It's been that cold here still. That's just crazy for this time of the year but I'll take it. It feels like fall. Your spring time yard is just lovely. Everything is so neat and tidy this time of year. If only Mother Nature would stop right here for a while longer. Araignee

  19. Love the ginger cat! I’ve had three gingers and they were all beautiful cats. Could you tell me where the Queensland Tide yarn is made please? I’ve not heard of it before and it has got me curious. A google search got me nowhere❤️❤️
