My Boy and Meadow Blanket

Thank you to all of you for your kind and thoughtful good wishes and prayers for our son and our family.  Travis is progressing very well, he is eating and drinking and improving.  They transferred him to another room out of ICU and he walked there himself!  He does have pneumonia in his lungs and it hurts when he coughs as he might have a fractured rib from the chest compressions.  But we're so relieved he is doing so well and the doctors are impressed with his recovery.  His work says they will cover things for him until he can return, which is a relief.  Everyone is grateful to Kristi for her quick response when he was ill and doing such a good job with CPR until the paramedics arrived.  This all happened during a terrible snowstorm, so it could have been tragic.  This mama is extremely happy and relieved that her "baby" boy is still with us.

I've gotten two color repeats on my Meadow blanket.  I think 2 more might give me the size I want.  I'm very happy with this!

I love how Lucy laid out the colors in her sample.

I removed the Valentine tablecloth and put on a new one I got a while back that reminds me of a 50's design.  I got it from April Cornell, her designs are so beautiful!

I do have a new jadeite piece.. :-D.. a candy dish.  And I did get a new little dollhouse cabinet for my miniature jadeite.  LOL!

I really like this and it's fairly large.

This also comes with a jadeite lid but I kind of like this clear one.

I had some healthy snacks to put in it.  :-D

I have a few more tiny pieces of jadeite coming, I'll show you a new photo when they are here.  The little pie is made by fimo clay in a bottle cap!  It's sitting on a little vaseline glass cake pedestal which matches the candlestick.  Oh how I love tiny things.

Our son Shawn is with Travis today, he is taking turns with Dayle going.  They are using Covid-19 rules for visitors which does not allow for many people going - only one person per 24 hours.  He may get to come home this weekend, so I will see him then.  I can't wait to give him a hug.  Thanks again for all your good wishes and prayers, I am sure they have helped.
((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  3. So happy to hear he is doing better! I broke at least one rib when I had pneumonia many moons ago. It wasn't fun but it got better after a (long) while!

  9. Oh my goodness Teresa... I am so glad to hear that your son Travis is doing better. What a scary health issue. I hope Travis continues to improve but I'm sure he'll need to rest a lot at home, especially with pneumonia. Thank goodness Kristi knew how to perform CPR. Your little miniatures are so cute!

  10. Wonderful news about Travis. I'm sure it relieves his and Kristi's minds to know his job is safe. I know he's a hard worker. How are the boys doing? I'm sure it scared them too. I am continuing to pray for him. I truly think it's a miracle that he's doing so well. God bless Kristi and her quick thinking.

Your blanket is beautiful and Lucy's comments on it surely meant a lot to you. Your new things are wonderful too. The tablecloth and the miniatures are all beautiful but I really like the candy dish, (turtles too), and the lid is perfect. It reminds me of one my Grandma had that was made of depression glass in the rosey color.
Take care my friend and make sure you're getting rest and taking care of yourself and Dayle.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  17. My grandmother had a candy dish just like yours but it was all clear, no jadeite. She kept butterscotch candy in it. The miniatures are just precious! I am so glad to hear that your son is doing well. Hopefully he will be home soon.
