Hi my friends.. how is your week going? It's been busy here, but good busy. We had a fun afternoon at our son's house - he's becoming quite a cook! He made roasted, marinated tri-tip steak, cheesy garlic mashed potatoes and a green salad. He and our oldest grandson even made brownies for dessert. Our youngest grandchild made me laugh - he's got a new "thing". Our son told him to "show us your cute face" and Caleb tipped his head to the side and his head against his shoulder and put on the CUTEST smily face ever. And he does it on command now. I promise I will get a photo of it next time I see him. Below is my "rescue" Christmas Cactus that I got from my mom's room before she passed away. Each time it blooms I feel as if my Mom is telling me hello, she loved plants and had a real green thumb. The photo above and below were taken with my BGC (Big Girl Camera). The plant below is a variegated Ficus - I love how the leaves looks with the light coming through them.
My Hibiscus bloomed again today. I will never get tired of these flowers!
This is a rare occurrence. Buddy the Cairn Terrier was here first. Then Lucy the Himalayan decided she wanted in the action. I gotta tell you that my lap gets very crowded with the dog, the cat AND my 17 inch MacBook Pro all in a row!
Yesterday I had a meeting at Multnomah Falls with the USFS and some Friends board members - then I went swimming. Today was a rare unscheduled day - and it was beautiful and sunny too! So, we went to Vancouver, Washington and found the new Armed Forces Reserve Center and got my military ID renewed. Dayle was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam and was wounded in action there while flying and is retired Army so I am eligible for military ID as his wife. Of course, the photo is amazingly awful. On the way home we stopped at a nursery to see if they had a camellia like Alicia Paulson has named Ave Maria, but no one has one. Wah.
Tomorrow I see a hand surgeon about a couple "ganglion cysts" on my left hand and then swimming. Thursday I volunteer at the falls. Friday is more swimming! And in between that all I'm working on making jewelry for Vista House which opens on the 16th.
How is your week going? Thanks for coming to visit!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
