Pink Fingernails and Family BBQ Fun

We sure did enjoy our 2 little granddaughters as they spent 2 nights with us this weekend.  And as a grandmother of 2 girls and 4 boys I can tell you without a doubt - boys and girls sure are different! :-)

Below is "Baby Girl" Paige showing me her freshly pink painted fingernails with such pride. I painted mine and her sister's nails too, so we all matched. :-)  The girls played with my collection of Fisher Price "Sweet Streets" houses and "peoples".  They sing and hum, they color and although 6 year old Jenna has no hugs to give, almost 3 year old Paige is a cuddler supreme.

NOTE:  Due to a camera battery not being charged, most of the photos in the post were taken with my iPhone.. so sorry for the pix not being as sharp as usual.  But that phone does pretty good in a pinch!
Here are Jenna's pink fingernails
Buddy and both girls were on my lap... :-)
Grandpa made the girls a "tent" with a quilt, they loved that!
If you have kids or grandkids, you might want to get this wonderful collection I found on Amazon - Beatrix Potter's whole collection of Peter Rabbit books.
Then yesterday we were invited to our son Travis and DIL Kristi's house for a family BBQ.  We took birthday gifts for Kristi and grandson Gabriel who share a birthday this week.
All of the grandkids running around (only eldest grandson Michael, 11, is not in this photo).
Grandpa pushed swings for HOURS yesterday!  Adults are visiting on the patio.
Mike and Gabe on little boys toys.
Caleb, Jenna and Paige.... push meeeeeeee.... wheeeeeeee!
Caleb, Hayden and Paige... swinging, swinging...
Caleb laying on his tummy swinging wayyyyyy high...
Such joy on his face!
Paige absolutely **LOVED** swinging.
Now they're in a tugboat heading down river.. lol
Hayden bounces over to visit on the bouncy ball...
Our daughter and her husband have decided to move to Ohio to be near his family.  They will be 2,000 miles away.  Their home has sold so in a few weeks they'll be moving.  We won't see our granddaughters very often once they've moved so I've been trying to spend as much time with them before they're gone.  I love them dearly.

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you have a wonderful week.  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  1. Beautiful photographs again, the little one looks so grown up with her painted nails. All of your grandchildren are gorgeous. I hope you all find a way for you to see them as often as possible, you are all going to miss each other terribly. :) I can see the girls will come and stay for more than a couple of nights in the future xxx

  3. Lovely photos of the children Teresa they are beautiful. Think I've said before that my DS,DDIL and grandsons don't live locally but about approx 123 miles away which can take between tow and half to three hours on our roads and traffic and that seems a long way to me so can imagine how you are feeling about the family moving so far away. Hopefully you will get to spend chunks of time with them.
Those Peter Rabbit books are just great aren't they. The BBQ looked fun, It is usually me that does the swing pushing. Love Anne x

  9. I have heartaches for our seven grands, who all live away. We see them only once/twice a year and it makes me sad. I know your cheerful personality will prevail as you make this unwanted transition.
    :)
