I love eBay and our mail lady. Between the two of them, I get to buy things that I'd never had even imagined. :-) I recently saw a miniature porch swing and thought.. hmm.. that would be just the thing to decorate the front porch of my dollhouse! And so I found one, and of course I looked at what the seller had in addition.. and found two hanging baskets of flowers for the porch! Below is the geranium basket I found! Sorry for the fuzzy photo. But look at the leaves! And the flowers! And the little wooden basket it's in! Love it!
And then this basket of mixed flowers.. :-)
The swing even came with 2 screw in hooks, hubby has a job to do today, hang it up. And the flower baskets. I guess we need to take down the xmas wreath.. OR.. I could put flowers in it.. hmm... My Christmas cactus' are blooming again! Here is the white one I got from my Aunt Helyn in Annapolis. She gave me some cuttings and they're doing great.
This is the only one I bought.. the colors are simply lush.. pink-y orange-y yummy. The flowers are really BIG!
We picked up some Easter colored Jelly Belly candies to put in my glass rabbit. And I used the ribbon on my rabbit that tied the tissue around my red scarf I got from Meredith at "Mereknits". I think I need a few more crocheted eggs to make my basket full, don't you think?
Today I'm working on a package to send to England. I've come to feel a special kinship to a blogger named Lucy at Lucy "In the Sky" blog. We have so much in common! She spins, knits, crochets and recently made a basket! We play Scrabble together via Facebook. I met her via "We Love Lucy" group in Ravelry. We both started blogging at about the same time. Soooo.. when we both participated in a swap in Rav before Christmas, we admitted to each other that we wished that we'd been paired for the swap. Then, when we both had giveaways on our blogs, we both wished we'd been picked.. but weren't. So, Lucy proposed that we have a swap just between ourselves and I enthusiastically agreed! She told me some things she liked and so I've been shopping and so has she. She told me she shipped her box today and I will ship tomorrow. I will show you what she sends to me and I think she'll show you what I sent. How fun is this!! I'm off to go shopping at an antique mall.. lol! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
I love that you "spring decorating" your doll house. It really is so cute! I can't wait to see what you and Lucy end up getting each other.
ReplyDeleteHello Teresa I am excited to see what you got each other. Love the swing and hanging flower baskets for the dolls house so cute. Anne x
ReplyDeleteThose hanging baskets and porch swing are adorable! I love them! I love your basket full of crochet eggs. It looks so pretty on your table. Looks like you are missing a lavender one, so you might have to force yourself to do a couple more. Hee-hee. Have fun with your swap. Blog friends are so FUN, and boxes full of goodies are even MORE FUN! :)
ReplyDeleteTeresa, hi How are you? Sounds like you are well. I love your dollhouse additions. Your house will have to be in Better Homes and Garden Magazine soon! : )

Fun, Teresa! I will enjoy seeing what you and Lucy gift each other with! Your doll house flowers and your real flowers are lovely, and I think more eggs in your basket would be lovely, too! <3
ReplyDeleteOh my, you have a dollhouse too! I have one and I really need to get busy and get the inside started. Stop by my blog and just search for it if you wanna take a look. My husband built it for me from a kit I bought years ago. Love your front porch, how cute, and the swing and flowers will be just a perfect touch to make it Spring. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!

ReplyDeleteVenha ver minha ripple e me seguir.
Obrigada.
I really do love your dollhouse. So very sweet!
ReplyDeleteI have the exact same porch swing for my dollhouse! It was hanging up on the porch until one of my grandkids pulled it out. No one will take ownership for that one but it might have been the 2 yr old. I love those little hanging baskets too! I bought a scarf from Claudia, Meredith's sister and saved the ribbon that mine was wrapped in too! Mine is pink, though. My Christmas cactus bloomed again about a month ago. Just one bloom though. It was so pretty and enjoyed it as long as I could. Enjoy your weekend!~Hugs, Patti
ReplyDeleteI am always amazed at the mini-sized decorations they make for dollhouses! As for your basket, since you know I LOVE your crocheted eggs, it will come as no surprise to you that I think you should make more:):)
ReplyDeleteLove your Christmas cactus flowers--so beautiful! I repotted mine after you said to and I am hoping that this year it will flower again too.
Blessings, Aimee
