Meet Mr. Mint! I finished crocheting my 3rd Teddy Bear for my middle child's youngest son. Gabriel loves his stuffed animals, so I know he'll enjoy this bear. I've crocheted a yellow one, purple/magenta one and now this mint one. I used Lion Brand Yarn, "Baby's First" which is 55% acrylic, 45% cotton. Do you like him?
This was where I was this morning - a one-legged bear, the instructions and my sewing basket. I have the yarn for #4 and #5. I have to buy some "ow-eeng" for the last one for our youngest grandson.
I embroidered his face on with black cotton yarn. I'm not sure how long the ribbon will last, as it has some pink in it, but I can't send a bear off without a ribbon! Of course I had to do a photo shoot with my "model". Here he is on the guest chair with my granny circle pillow and neat ripple blanket.
Then I had to put him in my great grandmother's high chair... Buddy was very interested in the new creature.
I'm not sure which one is cuter? What do you think? :-)
Pardon the fuzzy photo.. but I had to snap this of Buddy getting a closer look.
Here is Buddy sitting on his haunches checking out the bear.
Here is a photo of the boys the other day when they spent the night with us. Gabe's bear has yet to get it's legs. :-)
Here is what happened happened on Monday. I am so over winter. The weather here is mizzzzzzzzzzzz-erable. Dark, cloudy, rainy, cold. Dang.. I'm ready for some nicer weather. I hope it's nice where YOU are. Thanks for dropping in for a visit! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Those boys are adorable. The bear has turned out really well, you are getting too good at this.....now buddy wants a bear too! You are having the sort of weather where the very best thing you can do is stay indoors and crochet a Teddy Bear :) xxx
ReplyDeleteLove all the bears. I am sure your grankids love that Grandma can make them. Hope your weather gets better.
ReplyDeleteI just adore these guys. In fact, I pack a few of my dyed yarns and the pattern for Florida. Hope to make a few down there. Snow, lordy, you must be getting all ours this year. We are at 79 right now at 630pm, crazy. My bulbs are all popping and going to bloom about 2 months early this year. And the pisser is I'll be gone, boo-hoo. But, won't complain once the sand is between my toes.
ReplyDeleteAwww he's lovely Teresa! I agree with you, bears must have bows!! He reminds me of the bear on Harry Hills TV Burps - you might have to Google it - it's a tv programme in the UK that takes the micky out of UK soaps like Eastenders, it's really funny! But they have a knitted bear that features on it :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my blog, that made me laugh out loud! Going to have to not read any of the others til I get back :p
xx
As I sit here in a tank top and shorts (hehehehe)....I love your bears. I love the granny round pillow behind it too! I have been on a slouch hat kick lately. Of course my oldest daughter keeps eyeballing them...grrrrr LOL. Hugs! Spring will be there soon :)
ReplyDeleteThe boys look so sweet sitting there together. Such a cute bear. You are a very talented lady!
ReplyDeleteOh he turned out wonderfully, but then I knew he would. Sorry your weather is icky. We are having spring weather, but it's misleading. One year we had weather like then and then got a foot of snow on Easter Sunday.
ReplyDeleteBrrrrr! Love the Teddy Bear Teresa!!!! Your grands will treasure those!!!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope this is your last winter storm!!!
Think Spring thoughts..it will be here soon!
XO Kris
I love your little bear! I am hoping that I will be able to crochet a bear one of these days. I have a brown one that my MIL made my youngest son and I really cherish it as she is no longer with us. I am not going to tell you about our weather because it would make you feel bad...:( Have a great weekend!~Hugs, Patti
ReplyDeleteThose pictures of Buddy and the bear are absolutely precious! Which one is cuter indeed :)

The bears are lovely. Had to laugh at Buddy - he seems so very interested. Maybe you'll have to make him one too so he has a teddy of his own !! We had a terrible incident here earlier this week. My youngest DD (now 34 yrs old) was given a teddy when she was a year old, by my mother. He was much loved and is the only toy she has kept, possibly with the intention of passing it on to her family when she has one. Well, our back neighbours have chooks which must have attracted rodents that got into our storage shed. Poor Teddy was destroyed and my DD so very upset. I searched for a pattern, found a knitted one and finished making his parts yesterday - my secret mission. He has only to be sewn up and stuffed. I know he's not Teddy but I really needed to do this. Can I please ask what pattern you used for your lovely bears? Have a great weekend. xoxox
ReplyDeleteDorothy, email me and I'll send you the pattern. Teresa @ byteresa.com (take out the spaces).
DeleteWhilst the bear is lovely Teresa, I reckon Buddy is cuter!!! I love the photos you post of that dog ..... especially when he shares the space with the cat.
ReplyDeleteLove the bear !!!
ReplyDeleteThe bear is just darling!
ReplyDeleteBut I have to ask is that your little shed out in your back yard.... Too Cute! Do you have pics of it in the Summer. If so, please send me links. I wanna see!!
Hugs,
Deb
Lovely bear! You'l be going into mass production soon! Your home looks so cosy I love that picture with the fire burning and your grandsons there. Really homely. Hope you get some good weather soon. xx
ReplyDeleteAdorable bear and happy grandchildren, what a lovely combination :)
ReplyDeleteImpossible to decide which one is cuter, Teddy or Buddy! I agree with other ladies here, Buddy might want one of his own, look at his face :-) Beautiful picture of the boys, and I hope you'll be having nicer wheather soon! xxxx
ReplyDeleteSo very very beautiful and sweet!!! Your bears are so precious!! I love them! Your embroidery is also very neat!!! Great work!!
ReplyDeleteBuddy is just adorable! :o)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! I like this bear! Hello from Russia, welcom my blog too! Nika
ReplyDeleteThe bear is awfully cute, but your hairy little dog is ADORABLE! You MUST make him his own little Teddy too...maybe a smaller one? Or will he tear it to pieces like my dogs would? They love to unstuff their toys and take the squeakers out. I wouldn't mind a week or so of your cold, dark weather!
ReplyDeleteI've been looking forward to seeing your latest bear. It is very cute indeed and will be loved.
ReplyDeleteAnother cute bear Teresa. It looks jolly cold your end...I hope that's the last of your snow! Enjoy the weekend,
ReplyDeleteJane x
Very nice - a lovely thing to do for your grandchildren. You have given them very nice little faces. Just a thought, but when all the bears are done, what about some teddy cardigans or trousers etc? That will keep you on your toes for a bit longer!
