Two of my favorite bloggers are keeping journals - especially to record the good things that happen in their life. Gracie from One Saylor's Log has been keeping a log of things she feels grateful for - and drawing charming little drawings to go with her thoughts. I've been pleased to see my name in there a few times. I'm grateful for our friendship, we've met for lunch 3 times and I've visited her home and she's visited mine. And Meredith from Mereknits has now started writing in her orange journal, things she wants to feel grateful for. She challenged her readers to join in... so I said, I will! I've had this wonderful leather journal for years, my sisters and mother bought it for me for my 50th birthday. I found some entries that are special to me. I will add my new entries in this book.
I've packed this on my carry on bag and will try to jot some fun things down about my trip. I love the lighthouse, sailboat and ocean embossed on it's cover.Last evening I saw this lovely golden light slanting across the flower field across the country road from our farmhouse and stepped out on the old front porch to snap a few shots.
While I was out there I heard this chittering sound.. and looked up to see what it was - it was this squirrel gnawing on an acorn in the pin oak tree. :-)
Cute, huh?
Okey dokey... we've cleaned the house for days so our house-sitters Shirley & John will enjoy themselves. We're packed. I've made lists. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, and I'm also sure I've packed too much. But we're not checking anything, just carry-on bags. So, that's good. I want to thank you for being my friend here... for your comments and your blogs if you blog.. I'll not be able to leave my usual comments probably as it's not easy to type on my iPad.. I'll be back in a week. I will try to do a post from my iPad during the week. See you on the flip side! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
That is a beautiful journal to write your thoughts in Teresa. I don't write anything down but every night before I go to sleep I think of one precious memory from that day...it can be as simple as seeing Billy play. Life has incredible ups and downs but it is a wonderful journey if we open our eyes to the little things. Have a wonderful time catching up with your girls...precious times indeed. Take care and "see"you soon,
