We've been here two days and its been SO wonderful to be with my daughter, her husband Jay and our two precious granddaughters, Jenna and Paige. Yesterday we took the girls to Toys R Us and got them their birthday gifts. That was fun!
Today was Jenna's 8th birthday party and it was great fun!!! Last night we went out for dinner at Skyline Chili and I had the "4 Way" - spaghetti noodles covered with chili made with chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice - smothered with cheese. :-) its a local delicacy.
Back to the party. Jay's parents, brother and sister and their families were there along with his 94 yr old grandmother! Lots of little girls giggling and running around. It was fun.
Tomorrow were taking the girls out to lunch and back to Toys R Us to spend some birthday money.
Time to relax now. Hugs, Teresa

The party was obviously a huge success - looks like they were all having a ball. Those pictures take me back about 30 years or so when my girls were little. Such fun. Enjoy the rest of your time with them. xoxox

What a Party! Happy Birthday Jenna. XXX :)
ReplyDeleteCould that pasta dish possibly be Skyline? If so I totally envy you!!! Its one of the foods I miss most about up north. My dad, when he travels always stops and gets me a couple of cans. I know I can order it online but its a dad & daughter thing!! I'm glad to have found your blog. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI know some of those specialty chili dishes can be bought in the freezer section at Kroger (not sure if you have Kroger out in Oregon). Little girls at that age are so fun to be around and to buy for. It is wonderful that you got to come to Ohio and celebrate with your family. You missed all the hot weather. For a time it was miserable and ungodly hot.

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are seeing all your girls. I know you find it very hard that they moved away. My daughter moved out a week ago and yes it is very difficult. Thank goodness for skype and the internet. We are blessed really. I am counting down the days until Christmas when my daughter will be home a few weeks. I hope you have a really lovely visit and that it sustains you when you get home. Have fun! xx
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are having a really great time! You must be near Cincinnati with Skyline Chili. Enjoy your family....it's everything!~ Hugs, Patti
