OK, orange is out for the year.. and although we have Thanksgiving coming in a few weeks, I'm getting excited about the Christmas Holidays! Now, I love the colorful jolt I get from the small afghan in the neat ripple pattern on the leather "guest" chair in our family room and the granny circle pillow -- I have decided I want a holiday inspired design there for the month of December. SO.. I've seen posts on Ravelry in the group "We Love Lucy" for a design that has a few names, "Flowers in the Snow" and "Circle in a Square" so that is the design I'm using. I wanted it to look like a Poinsettia with Christmas colors. I have ordered ivory, red, green and yellow on KnitPicks in Brava acrylic - but I did this sample square using this and that in cotton. How do you like it? I hope my yarn order arrives soon!
Circle in a Square - THIS PATTERN IS IN U.S. crochet instructions.

I just thought I'd snap a photo of my still-beloved "Lucy Bag" - have you made one yet? I love this and carry my projects in here. My alpaca Japanese Flower shawl is in here.. a WIP.. I'll work on it again.. I promise.
I've been having fun with a game on my iPad - "Draw Something". I thought I'd share some of my drawings. If you play this game, I'd love to play with you!!
The game is you draw a word that you pick out of 3 options, easy, medium and hard - 1, 2 and 3 points. The other person has like 12 letters to pick from to solve the game. It's so fun!!
OK, I have to head off to the pool to swim my hour.. tomorrow is my Precious Metal Clay class.. I'll take photos.. have a GREAT weekend!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
I love the colors and idea for your Christmas blanket, you are so creative and attending that new precious metal class sounds like so much fun. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you and Dayle,
Meredith
Oooooo, I am going to love this blanket..Such pretty colors and I really love the idea you are using cotton....my favorite! Can't wait to see it finished. The metal class sounds really fun. I am into clay, found some cute ideas. will share soon! Have fun, Shari
ReplyDeleteI love your Christmas square it is going to make a beautiful blanket. xxx
ReplyDeleteI cannot drawr to save my soul! Everything I do looks like a third grader did it. Seriously. Your drawrings look so good. Of course you can drawr. You can do everything well! I love to say drawr and drawring that way. Like that little kid that Mike Meyers used to play on SNL sitting in the bathtub...remember him? "Can you see me bum while I'm drawring in the tub?" Ha-ha-ha.
ReplyDeleteLove your Christmasy square. I'm glad you're crocheting something new. Can't wait to see your progress as the weeks go by.
This does sound fun...and I love your Christmas square...it is going to be a stunner. xoxo
ReplyDeleteTeresa, I am eager to see how your class goes tomorrow! Your Christmas blanket is a pretty project :) The drawing game does look like fun. I have a garter stitch blanket that I am going to work on this week when I can. We have lists and charts and agendas for the wedding and 8+ people staying here. Others are staying in motels or the homes of friends. Although I am looking forward to all the visiting and celebration I need meditative needlework!!!!!!!! And I hope we can get together for another play day when things calm down over here:) xx from Gracie
ReplyDeleteI really like those squares, so Christmasy and festive. I just bought yarn last week for a granny patch blanket. Can I possibly justify buying more for a Christmas blanket? Hmmmm. :-)
ReplyDeleteHave fun at your class and I can't wait to hear all about it.
Blessings,
Betsy
