My older sister Roberta hosted a tea for the "girls" yesterday. We all brought something - I made chocolate chip brownie cupcakes with peanut butter cream cheese frosting. :-)
Sis had the table all set for the four of us when we arrived.
The girls. I asked her where she got the utensil holders and she told me they were vintage toothbrush holders she'd picked up at thrift stores. :-)
Roberta made raspberry soup - it's spiced raspberries with some yogurt - yummy!
Sis made tea sandwiches, egg salad, tuna salad and ham and cheese. Shirley brought fresh fruit. Younger sister Denise made fresh scones and homemade clotted cream and lemon curd. :-)
Our hostess also made jello with pears.
And of course, tea!
A literal banquet.
Save room for dessert!
The peanut butter cream cheese frosting was easy - 1/4 cup each of butter, peanut butter and cream cheese, blended together, mix in 2 cups of powdered sugar and a few tablespoons of milk - whip together.
And look what I found when I returned home!!!!!
This is what I've been going for since we got our first chickens - the regular brown, dark brown of Cuckoo Maran and aqua of the Ameracauna! Aren't these wonderful?
I am swimming again after a break during the worst of the winter weather - so I will be heading off in a few hours for my one hour of lap-swimming. How is your week going? ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Oh my goodness so much pretties and yummy food!!! love tea parties!!!

ReplyDeleteYou got your green egg!!! Yippee! And the tea party. How fun! What an imagination to think of toothbrush holders for utensils. And raspberry soup! And the cupcakes! It's a good thing I wasn't invited-there wouldn't be any food left for anyone else. :-). You are so blessed to live close to your sisters. Such many wonderful times you all have together. See you Friday, (I hope).
