Hi there, thanks for dropping by! Today is my official birthday, but we've been celebrating all week.. hubby tells me it's my birthday month. :-) NEVER in my life have we been at the beach and had clear sunshiny days the whole time. It's been awesome! This is the view standing in front of our trailer. Bliss.
I snapped this shot of Dayle and our two little grandsons not long before they left for home. Both of us think back and not once ever did our grandfathers sit with us like this. I loved them both, but I think Dayle might be the best grandfather I've ever known in my life. He is so good to all of us. He is my birthday gift. :-)
Kristi, my DIL, went down on her last day and came back with another treasure trove of agates. I love these little beauties!Do you have agates on your coast?
I put some agates in the copper lantern that my daughter gave me as a gift years ago, and put my bunny, Maggie Maria, on the table - the flowers were a birthday gift from my son's family.
Kristi, my DIL, found 3 pieces of sea glass, clear, green and brown. And see the tiny crab shell and sand dollar she found? And the other shells?
Treasures from the sea!
Our little home away from home.. cozy and comfy.. with a view. :-)
Buddy loves the fact that he can jump up onto the bed himself.. at home our bed is too high for him to get up himself, we have to lift him up each night. :-)
We went to a late lunch yesterday at Georgie's Grill and this was our view. I had shrimp and chips and Dayle had roast beef that was amazing. Great place to dine in Newport.
After lunch we drove around the point and shot our favorite little lighthouse, Yaquina Bay LH.
And Yaquina Bay Bridge.. sorry if I'm showing you the same photos each year. :-)
Here is another vantage point of the bridge, down by the fishing boat harbor. We stopped at a bay front fish market and picked up a cooked Dungeness Crab and some fresh salad shrimp for our dinner salads at camp.
On our way back through the historic bay front I said.. STOP.. and handed Dayle my camera to get this shot of a big sailboat going by the open end of a fishery building. :-)
On our way north back to our camp, we went down to see the stone house here that I'm in love with. There is a waterfall in front of it, but don't you know, my camera battery went dead right then.
Before dinner, Dayle went down to the beach at low tide to look for more agates. He was gone forever, I finally called him to see where he was and he was visiting... :-) He did more talking than rock collecting.. lol. Isn't he cute with his little pink beach bucket? Kristi left it for us for rockhounding.
Here is an agate in it's natural habitat.
He also got this shot of the seagulls in the surf. Love this one!
And the sunset.. as he finally came "home".
Now it's just after noon and I get to figure out what fun place for hubby to take me for my birthday lunch. Hmm.. Thanks for visiting and thanks for all the neat birthday wishes from you all! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Happy Birthday to you, though from your words, I know that it has been perfect.

HAPPY HAPPY! It looks like you had a wonderful time! I would sit in my granddaddy's lap and he'd sit on the floor and play checkers with me. He also took me fishing when I was little. My dad commented that granddaddy didn't do all that with him and my granddaddy said "this is different, this is my grand baby." Grandparents are the best :)
ReplyDeleteStunning photographs as always, Teresa. What a wonderful place to be for your birthday. Happy birthday! Abi x
