My daughter Amy flew from Ohio to visit us for 10 days along with our beloved granddaughters, Jenna and Paige. The plane was delayed an hour, putting them into Portland International Airport at 12:15 am! That was 3:15 am their time. They didn't get to bed until 2:30 am, 5:30 am their time! Poor tired girls! On Wednesday we chilled out until the early afternoon when we headed to my sister Denise's house for a BBQ. We stopped to pick up ice and drinks and I snapped this photo of the girls with their heads out of my sunroof while we waited in the car for Grandpa to shop. :-)
Getting ready for the BBQ, I got to brush Paige's freshly washed hair and put it up into a ponytail.. and I curled it around. Cute.
Give grandma a smile. :-) Back in the bosom of her family. Grandpa is there, and our adorable niece Whitney, who just passed the bar and is a lawyer!
Dinner was salmon, cheesy potatoes, broccoli salad, chicken and cole slaw.
Denise brought out Whitney's old toys for the girls to play with.. vintage Barbies!! :-) Yesterday we just hung out and let the girls rest up and Amy went out with her best friend for life, Erin. They grew up together and went K-12 in school together. Later they're heading to visit old friends for dinner and Jenna is spending the night with her childhood best friend.
We got the two little grandsons new swim vests and goggles for the next time we take them to swim. They love them!
We met Denise and her oldest son Shane at Bumpers Grill earlier in the day and they have these 2 big saltwater tanks and I snapped a photo of this funny fish. Shane is a world traveler and amazing photographer - feel free to check out his travel photos here: Hawke Backpacking
This is a Lion fish. Isn't he cool?
I ran across this scan of one of my acrylic paintings I did when we lived in Louisiana. I thought you might enjoy seeing it.My sister commissioned this octopus ink painting of our grandparents barn and I borrowed it back to scan - I love the memories of grandpa and grandma's farm in Oklahoma. I rescued their farm table and Hoosier kitchen queen cabinet from them. Want to see photos? Family Antiques
I just wanted to check in and say hello to you.. we're enjoying our girls immensely. On Sunday we're heading to the beach for 3 days - and our boys and their families are joining us. I'm excited about all of us being together!! Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Such cute girls! Glad you are getting to spend some time with them. I could have guessed both locations of your paintings. The first one looks just like Louisiana, and I know Oklahoma well. How on earth did you end up from Oklahoma to Louisiana and now Oregon? I was born in West Germany, came here when I was a bit over 3 years old and have never lived anywhere else but Ohio. I would say that you ended up in one of the most beautiful places in our country.
Soooo glad all is well and you are enjoying your family time together, Teresa, and such perfect weather, too! You and yours have been much in my thoughts :) [I am celebrating with you!] I enjoy viewing your art...in all its forms and the fish are definitely fun to see. Carolyn is safely home and we are plotting a three week drive to and from Nebraska in August, so I may miss a chance to see Lake Waldo while you are there this year depending on when you are going. Praying for blessings for you and yours and sending you love with hugs, Gracie xx
ReplyDeletePS Enjoy the beach for me, please :)
